The big news this morning seems to be the new Music Beta service from Google; a cloud based storage system that allows for playback on all your devices. Sound familiar? It should. It is, as far as I can tell from the reading, the exact same concept as the Amazon Cloud Player. You put your songs in your Music Beta account and can then play them back wherever. Google does not have full compliance of the labels and is taking the same stance as Amazon: it's a file storage system just like backing up to another hard drive, not something that requires heavy licensing. The catch? You have to be invited and it's for Android enabled devices only for the time being.

So, with Amazon and Google both clearly in the race to win your music storage the heat is on. I've got a good feeling that Apple will announce their plans for something similar (aka their long lost LaLa acquisition) soon enough. Then all you have to do is decide where you want your songs.
