Is this article legit? Major labels seek to charge $1.25 to $2.99 per song as opposed to .99 ?? Doesn't anyone remember when the only legit purchasable downloads were on Amazon and their ilk, priced at about $2.50 a pop? Yea, you don't remember because it was a ridiculous amount of money that you'd never consider paying for one song. It's insane, but maybe it will drive CD sales up.
