Manu Torres

I can't quite put my finger on it but the work of Portland, OR artist Manu Torres is intriguing to me. The floral arrangements he makes are both beautiful and oddly grotesque; though the photos of said arrangements feel endearingly classic. This writeup about how the work is made makes it even more enticing:
His floral arrangements often involve a dialogue between the artificial and the natural, incorporating paper, fabric, paint, and feathers to imitate and exaggerate natural beauty in a hyperreal way.The exhibit up at the Russo Lee Gallery in PDX is pretty small but certainly worth a Jeremy.
