More often than not, YouTube's algorithm has got my number. I'm not sure when I was shown the work of Rusty James but it is right up my alley. James reinvents Nine Inch Nails songs as if they came from different albums within the NIN catalog.
More specifically, he'll take a song like "March of the Pigs" and rework it as if it was part of The Fragile. Or "Love is Not Enough" as if it were from Pretty Hate Machine. From what I've read, he is leaning into using actual samples from the original records to reimagine the songs.
This is obviously some deep niche fandom at work here but if you're into it, you're into it. If nothing else, it's a fascinating experiment.
