massive mailbag

posted October 27, 2003 #

In preparation for my upcoming move I'm trying to clean out the ole Inbox. So here come a massive bunch of links from the mailbag:
- DBLOC - clothing company with a crazy amount of "random film grain" stuff going on with the site. Kind of out of hand actually but there are some hot text treatments on the shirts..

- The 900 Club - profiles of the world's most overweight people.. sad, incredible, and bizarre all at once.

- Why The Future Doesn't Need Us - Wired article about the downfall of man through it's own invention.

Doom and Gloom - supposed Biblical interpretations about the 101 Propechies leading up to the final days of the world as we know it.. maybe it actually text was cited it'd be a different story, but the explanations of what a certain passage is saying pretty much negates any validity it could have possibly had in the first place. One thing about the end of the world that everyone should realize is this.. every day is closer to the last day.. just like your own life, you're never getting any younger. It's not really a scary topic. So to say that there are impending signs of the end is beyond obvious. Just don't start boarding off windows and getting interviewed by the local news of "I ain't afraid of no rapture!!"

-Ticketmaster reminds me (and you) not to miss Death Cab for Cutie and Mates of State. And a heads up that A Perfect Circle is playing later in the month (with The Icarus Line I believe).

-Shirt Ninja Help - simple instructions on how to be your own shirt ninja. Kind of a classic link, but even better is that if you search google for "tshirt ninja" you get this guy.

I just watched We Fail again and it still blows my mind. The art direction is unique, the storyline is nuts, the music is a great counterpoint, and the animation is fluid yet amazingly bizarre.
