Net Neutrality Is Dead (for now)

I don't want to be overly dramatic but this latest ruling from the Washington appeals court that strikes down the FCC's rules to protect net neutrality feels like a real bummer. Due to the FCC categorizing ISP's as "information services" rather than "telecommunication services" - their protection over the services rendered has been rendered nil.

This Slate article breaks down the situation very well and many of the implications of the ruling but, in the end, the situation now seems to be up to the FCC chairman to really rally some counter legislation or to have the will of the people heard. Both very shaky solutions.
