Thanks to Chad I caught wind of this OUYA Project - an open-source, Android based, video game console looking for almost a million dollars in funding to bring a new product to market. The basic idea is that indie game developers have an enormous hurdle to overcome if they want to make games for the TV screen - aka XBox, Playstation or Nintendo. The Ouya would disrupt the market by bringing a platform out that anyone could develop for. It's hard to say if Android is the right platform for such a task but the general concept of a new, indie friendly, console is great.
