Mason just clued me in to the new search engine -
A9.com - brought to you by Amazon.com. I'm skeptical that anyone can out trump
Google, but the engine certainly has some nice features. Being able to search directly from the URL somehow seems like a cool bonus, easier to remember and share to say the least. I will give it credit for one thing, it clued me in to
this site that is just a bit outdated, but amusing to view. Can any search engine out-do Google? I mean, it's become a well known verb .. you aren't going to tell someone to wait a minute and "let me A9 it..."

The
Tail Viper seems like one of those things that if you actually used it around real skaters they'd probably beat you up.

Without having researched, or even googled, I have to ask - whattup with fonts have different names in Photoshop versus Flash? The Univers family is a prime example.. the font itself is the same, but in order to get Univers 67 face, you need to use Univers 47 in Flash (or something like that). Not having made any fonts, I wondered how this came to be. Anyone?

There is a ton of stuff at
Wooster.. so much that sometimes it all blends together and it's not really even worth checking out. Occasionally, there's a piece or installation that is worth viewing.. today is one of those days. So go check out
Wooster, and scroll down until you find the faucet stuff from Rafael Coutinho and Javier Costamajor. I'd give you the permalink, but it doesn't work. The work was probably comissioned, but that doesn't really take away from it.

I love a good rip.
El Hotel Las Calzadas completely rips off the
KNI site, but I'm not offended because: 1) it's a poor rip and 2) it's probably the hottest hotel site in all of mexico, so there's gotta be something to be said for that.

While I did not attend the
Flash in the Can festival in early April -
Daniel and
Arlo were there to represent the
KNI goods. It appears that media from the event is starting to surface.. loads of
pics from the 3 day event, but the most interesting ones are:
KNI presentation (5 pics),
Group 94,
Hi Res and last (but not least)..
Buzzard and
Jessey. Anyone find a common thread in all these photos? I can...

Is
this article legit? Major labels seek to charge $1.25 to $2.99 per song as opposed to .99 ?? Doesn't anyone remember when the only legit purchasable downloads were on Amazon and their ilk, priced at about $2.50 a pop? Yea, you don't remember because it was a ridiculous amount of money that you'd never consider paying for one song. It's insane, but maybe it will drive CD sales up.

Chad is right... the latest
Cozytone has a good selection of artists and should be viewed now. The Guerilla Ink posters are reminscent of Mr. Shepard Fairey, but still a cool style.. the night photography from Geoff Dumont is beautiful, and the illsutrations of Marco Cibola are done with great style. Those are my favorites, but they all have something good.

Much like the
subservient chicken, the
Mint Brothers is a mildly entertaining site brought to you by some random large corporation (Best Buy in this case) but lacking in any obvious product peddling. I guess I will think Best Buy is cool if I like this website.

Thanks to
Reboot, we can look forward to several sites relaunching. The new
dbox teaser is a promising sign of things to come... and I've heard rumors about
sibhod having a little something up his sleeve. We shall see.

I've seen alot of commentary on
this whole KoRn versus the major record label industry.. and how they are speaking up against the majors, etc. etc. blah blah. Apparently their latest
video shows them smashing a record store and flashes message similar to the Van Halen's "Right Now" - only it's all about how crappy the industry is. That Rolling Stone article asks -"does this seem hypocritical?" Umm. .hell yes it is hypocritical. Aside from the fact that the band wouldn't have any sort of outlet to say these things without a major, the label paid for the album being recorded AND all the promotion - including the video that slags them! 90% of music doesn't turn a profit because 90% of listeners don't want anything interesting or edgy.. homogeny is key.
Sorry about that.. had to rant for a moment. I understand the plight of being of being on a major, but it's not like anyone forces your hand to sign a contract - it's a voluntary activity. On the flipside, having another reason to hate KoRn can never be a bad thing.

The trailer for
Supersize Me is online. I think the movie's point is a bit ridiculous.. YES, eating McDonalds for every meal is going to make you ill. It will be interesting to see if he goes for the burger meal everytime, or actually switches it up and gets some greens and such.

For those who love
Blinker the Star and George Harrison - you should probably download the
Blinker cover for "You." Actually just more of a heads up for all the BTS fans that don't visit the site on a frequent enough basis to have caught the new download.
