Thank you
fugitiveAlien for the tip about the forthcoming
Sealab 2021 - Season 1 DVD. Sucks to wait until June, but the first season (and second, whenever that comes out) is well worth it.

For those CSS Geeks out there, you don't have to hate on IE anymore if you get
Dean Edwards IE7. While I'm not entirely clear on the specifics of how it does it, the downloadable CSS will make IE 6 more standards compliant and allow for more advanced CSS usage. Thank you
Young Pup.

Slatch linked to
Radio.Blog - an application that allows you to "stream" mp3's via Flash application. First of all, it seems notoriously close to the mixtape player that
Arlo wrote for
Buzzard. Secondly, it's not really streaming if you have to convert the mp3's and upload them to your server. I'm not bashing it as a very nice application, but I'm not sure "streaming" is the proper word.. someone just needs to tie
Shoutcast into an application like that, now
that would be something.

How is
this possible? Aireline on Saturday, Metric on Monday, Aireline again on Tues (in m'boro), On The Speakers on Wed, and Phantom Planet on Sunday?! What? Nashville with shows?!

It's like a throwback to the Spongebath Records hey-day - download Self, Booty Hoop (yes, the much "taboo" Booty Hoop), and some Features tracks from
The Bros. soundtrack.. produced by Matt Mahaffey.

I'm pretty much lifting this straight from
Silent Uproar - but in a slimmed down version. Random band
Bumblebeez will release
The Printz on May 25th via
Modular People. Please watch their video (
Windows Media or
Real Player) as the art direction on it is pretty clever and well done, even if the song is lacking.

I must extend many, many props to
Daniel and
Sibhod for the freshly launched
N*E*R*D game. I don't think my job on the actual
site is all too shabby either, but the game is pretty much a first for
KNI and I'm overly pleased with the outcome (even if I didn't do any of the actual coding). Props to
Kurt for doing what he does, and
Arlo for keeping it real.

Lots of nice works from
Decoy Lab, though I was unable to find a scrollbar so I had to do the old 'highlight and drag down' trick to see everything.

The newly relaunched
Plan B Science & Entertainment site is fantastic. Great texturization on everything but it still feels like a website - no gimmicks, just a hot design fueled by some great work.

The LogoType list has moved to
Brands of the World. If you're ever in need of an EPS version of a random corporate logo, this is typically the first place I'd suggest to check.

For the first time in awhile, I'm actually excited about a
new movie. I'm not sure if I'll make it for the Friday night opening (not a fan of the movie crowds) but so far I've yet to see anything disappointing regarding the
movie.

I can't begin to tell you how many years I've been waiting to see something like
this. Finally,
The Features releasing
something in the US, and it just so happens to be on a major label. Kudos to them.. now if only they'd officially put out the wealth of recording material they have backlogged, I'd be content.

Seems like this is happening more often lately but I am
slammed with work right now. We are trying to finish a site today at
work, I've got a bunch of freelance stuff that I'm trying to launch by midnight, I'm trying to lay linoleum in my basement tonight, and part of me would really enjoy trying to go see
The Secret Machines tonight.. but I think I'll be a bit busy. Damn.
Speaking of which, has anyone bought their internet pre-release? The few songs I downloaded from iTunes really left me feeling empty. I refuse to believe that people are satisfied spending .99 on music that just resides on their harddrive or on some crappy CD-R for the rest of it's life. Presentation is everything.

If you didn't catch
Bill Maher last night, be sure to get your Day Pass to Salon Premium and read his
New Rule regarding the President and John Kerry ("the other white meat"). Pretty dead on rant about the deception of politicians and their attempt to appeal to the working class, even when though they've never been a part of it.
