Amazing service offered by
RipDigital. Send them your CD's, and they will convert them to mp3. I guess if you had no idea how to do this it might be a decent deal, but in general I'd say it's pretty much a total ripoff (especially since loads of music players these days will do it for you). Oh, and their "borrows" from the Apple site a whole lot, strange since iTunes basically puts them out of business.

Some great design by
Giovanni Bianco (with alot of great photography by Steven Klein). Nice simple portfolio site.. excellent emphasis on the work itself.

The trailer for Kevin Smith's
Jersey Girl is now available. Think
Clerks but with alot less witty dialogue and alot more feel-good father / daughter / accepting-who-you-are. While this one definetly looks like a departure for Mr. Smith from his previous works, that's probably a good thing, the man needed to branch out. And as far as sickly sweet movies of this nature go, it doesn't look incredibly awful.

Typically I'm not a huge fan of the all over print on t-shirts but
skæn have done it in a most enjoyable way. Nice interface for the site as well, even if it is a little noisy.

The trailer for the Will Ferrel
Anchorman movie is up on the official site.. unfortunately it looks like they ditched the 70's filmstock feel from the "exclusive clip" and actually put some sort of plot into it. I want an hour and a half of random clips patched together entertaining me.. I don't need some sort of substanial storyline.

Two features worthy of reading: Rolling Stone
Sean Astin interview (who knew his parents were uber-famous?), and
this article written by Sean Penn about his time spent in Iraq.

It's a little on the "ridiculously dark and creepy" side of things, but the
Johnny Hollow site has been voted People's Choice 2003 by the
FWA. Even if you hate the music, the riddles and the animations are quite entertaining.

In an attempt to
not be thought provoking, I present you with
this link to one of the nerdiest things I've seen in awhile. Be sure to scroll down to check out all the inner "cockpit" details.. ridiculous! Thank you
Chad, I feel better about myself already.

In an attempt to be more thought provoking, I offer you
this article about a Michigan man who's dialect prevented him from properly using an OnStar voice-activated mobile service. Aside from the bit of humor about this 'yooper' penisula native, it brings to mind the question of whether or not technology is subconciously creating a homogenous dialect throughout the nation? In order to properly communicated with the voice recognition software, everyone would have to learn to speak relatively in the same manner - no more intense accents. This thought provoking post is sponsored by
Ryan Hale.

Daniel Box question/poll of the week: How many names can you come up with that end in the letter S? Proper Examples: Charles, Darius, Jens, Anders, Shamus, James. Questionable Examples: Chris (common derivative of Christopher), Jules (common nickname for Julian). And... begin...

In promotion for their forthcoming
Talkie Walkie album (released Jan 27th) there is a new site up for
AIR. Pretty wacky but I'd expect nothing less from them. Actually it has a very 80's "futuristic" feel to it.. but anyway.. I look forward to the new album though I suspect it will be alot like
10,000 hz Legend but with fewer guests.

Woah..
these photos are nuts. Saddam definetly looked rough when he was caught but in that second picture he's looking like he's in some major pain too. Snuts to see some pics that haven't been released by a major media outlet.

Great site for
Bob Schneider. Yea, I've never heard of him either but the
We Fail crew has made the site so enjoyable that you don't even care if you know the artist. The unique animation style makes you want to explore every section just to check it all out.. and the chatter between songs is rather amusing as well. The music? Eh, I'm not that into it.. but the site is great.

New
Green Lady site has launched.. overhead projector style. Pretty clever site and a load of new shirts to check out. Why you can order some of the products online and not others kinda baffles me.. but maybe sometime I can find their stuff at an authorized retailer.
