Have I logged
No Pattern before? I can't remember and it doesn't matter - because you need to look at it again. Even if you just peep the splash page it's worth it.

Funny, but kind of true,
article about the uprising of BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome). Someone like
Michael Moore is definetly afflicted.. hell, I've got it I'm sure.. but it's always good to take a step back and make sure your rantings are in perspective.

I had a chance to catch a non-midnight showing of the new
Lord of the Rings movie (thanks Cody). Don't expect anything too insanely different from this one - same cinemtography styles, same incredible CG creatures, same ridiculously intricate makeup, and a whopping dose of fantasy-fiction. If you liked the first two, this one will be the icing on the cake.. if you weren't such a fan of the others, maybe this will provide a time for a good long nap.

You should
read about the problem prisoner. The next few months (years?) should prove to be quite politically interesting.

It appears that
Winamp 5 is officially out.. no more beta. All of the reviews so far have been good, but I'm always the skeptic scared to switch to a new version. Winamp 2 just does the job perfectly!

Merry Christmas
Nick, I got you
this turntable. It's only $73,750. I expect a gift of equal (not lesser) value.

It seems that people do not understand when a
website says "Business Inquiries" that the associated number is the one you should call if you are interested in inquiring about doing business. Strange.

these are hilarious but almost anything involving Bob Odenkirk and Jay Johnston tickles my funny bone.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that
LA Graphica is probably one of my favorite places for design. Excellent photography and illustration integration, consistently amusing (the Centaurrific and Let's Wrestle shirts are hilarious), and always well done. It just happens there is a new design up with loads of work to browse through. Heads up via

MTV has announced their list of
top videos from 2003. Obviously there are a few in there that make perfect sense - Outkast, Queens of the Stone Age, Johnny Cash - but why is Fountains of Wayne getting
any credit for anything related to that "Stacy's Mom" song? It's trite and oh so not clever. Anyway, the point here is that The Postal Service have a
video, it's reminscent of Bjork's "All Is Full Of Love" (though not as good) video, and MTV put it in their top videos list. Is it proper to put something in your Best Of list that you've never bothered to show on your station?

I am glad that we
captured Saddam. I am glad that it gives consumers an upbeat feeling for their
holiday shopping. I will not be pleased if the media fails to recognize that we are killing and dying over the search for WMD. Or is that just beating a dead horse at this point and I really should have gotten over it?
Because of all this I find myself in need of fresher news sources. Typically I will read
CNN,
MSNBC, and
Fox.. I have been told that I need to immediately begin reading
BBC,
IHT,
Google News, and
Al Jazeera for more rounded coverage. I agree. Anyone other suggestions for media input?
GNN? Oh, and don't suggest Yahoo News.. the layout kills me, I refuse to read it.

Mr. Prahlad Jani has been
under observation for 10 days after claiming not to have consumed food nor water for decades. While that particular claim can't be verified, the scientists studying him say that he is in perfect health after 10 days of no consumption. I'm going to say it sounds pretty.. impossible but intriguing none-the-less. Link via

Saturday night I unfortunately found myself at the
MUSE. If anyone is thinking about booking bands to play in the Nashville area, do not be tricked into thinking the Muse is a decent place to play. The sound is horrible, the venue is not so hot, and the crowd is almost gar-run-teed to the among the most annoying to be experienced.
Despite these hangups about the venue, I did experience a rousing set by
Apollo Up and
Forget Cassettes. I was also witness to the absolute worst cover of "Coming Down The Moutain" (Janes Addiction) by
Dharmakaya.. whose name I even hesitate to mention because I was so embarrased for them by viewing a portion of their site. That's my official word of warning against those guys.. and I would typically not say anything bad about a band because everyone's got their own thing.. but.. c'mon.. these guys.. I just can't put into words how terrible (and hysterical) it was to have to see them.
More Christmas shopping to wrap up and that's my weekend folks. Now you see why I typically don't update on Saturday and Sunday...

I just noticed that my iTunes has been playing music for 8 hours straight. The best part about this? I have my computer downstairs streaming my mp3 collection to my
Shoutcast server at work, then I'm tuning on my laptop upstairs via the wireless network. Sometimes being a geek feels refreshing.

Maybe not as addictive as Friendster, I'd say that
Audioscrobbler looks kind of cool. It builds a musical profile based on what you've been listening to (via a plugin in your mp3 player) and then it suggests other artists you may enjoy. I think I'll try it out.
