So yesterday I went and got myself a
Motorola V300, and switched my cellphone service over to
T-Mobile. I'm getting a better deal and I've got a fairly cool upgrade of a phone (not the fanciest thing ever, but certainly not shoddy). However, I'm kind of in number porting limbo right now.. should be very interesting to see how long the full on switch actually takes (been less than 24 hrs so far and the new phone is active, but not receiving calls properly).

Alright! New
Programmable Press site. It's always good to view new works from Nick Butcher, but now there is a whole slew of paintings to take in.
I think the "A Bed, Field, with Leaves" is my favorite of the bunch.

I thought I'd seen the latest
UPSOd but apparently not since v8 seems to be the hot new stuff. Layer 12 is the goods.. and anything involving the talking chicken / pig. Actually it's all pretty entertaining (and b/w) but those are my faves.

Holy crap, the illustration portfolio by
Tomer Hanuka is snuts! It's like the cartoony / detailed style similar to
Kozy N' Dan but with any bit of cutesy removed and replaced with creepy (and/or eerie).

I've been hearing some
rumblings about our current governmental administration planning a
return to the moon. Does anyone
not see this as a gigantic retarded distraction from the horrible debacle in the Middle East? Most media outlets are referring to this as a "Kennedy moment" for the Bush buddies and I have to concur.. there is no need to return to the moon, we've been there.. we had sandwiches on it.. what else is there?

I wish
Otterball had more work in it's portfolio.. I love the texturing (the subtle and not-so-subtle) on the work.

I found myself browsing through the works of
Lantern Waste Company for a bit tonight. Some witty tshirts, and I always find a bizarre enjoyment out of looking at polaroids of people who I rarely know (though in this case I did recognize a few people).

Excellent photography (and site) from
Matt Stuart. The relationship between the subject of the photo and the surroundings is fantastic.. some very clever moments.

I believe
Sib shared
MobyDock with me yesterday, and now I see it's made its way to
MacNews. The program is a nifty little add on that converts your Windows taskbar to function like the OS-X dock. It seemed a bit buggy, but worth trying out for those PC users who miss their Apple dock.

Typically I don't really care for Christmas music one way or another (except for Mannheim Steamroller.. man, don't get me started!) but I have to admit that the multitude of songs available at
Kempa are pretty much great. Definetly a different take on alot of classics.

Okay, I think the King of the Internet crown may soon from
Cmikesell and be placed upon the head of
Ryan Hale. Check out these links:
Grafitti Archaeology,
Mr. Picassohead,
Design A Pollock,
Custom Police Vehicle.
What makes him earn the possible title of King is that he sent me three art related links (the Pollock is particularly cool), and then one random off the wall ridiculous, somewhat lame, Create A Car Flash "application." It's that degree of randomness that really pushes his possibilities higher (though we all know noone can de-throne
Nick).

I have been meaning to share
Ratatat ever since I downloaded it at. Both the available tracks are instrumental niceties, but I especially enjoy "17 years." I must give thanks to

New
Futurama DVD on the way. Lots of bonus features as well - featurettes, images, commentary, etc.. the standard fair of goodness.

Now that the server isn't ridiculously slammed from everyone and their brother viewing it, I can finally watch the
Lynn Fox Bjork videos that most everyone has probably seen by now. The "Unravel" piece pretty much sold me, but all of them are bizarre and entertaining to watch.

Interesting internet experiment entitled
ColorMe. You input a name and location, the system generates a color value for you and places you next in line. Looks like a big random mosaic right now, but it could be interesting with enough participants to see how locations and colors interact. Link via

Chad.

Check the works of
eneone. Aside from some great illustrations and character design, they are responsible for the new
Nelly Furtado site.. which, while I'm not a fan of the music, is a rather fun site.
