I mentioned yesterday that Quichenight will be having a listening party tonight - May 31st - here in Nashville, TN at The Bowery Vault but there's even more good news on the Quichenight front. News that anyone can enjoy, even those outside Nashville.
The video for "Woman Tonight" just premiered and it's a ridiculous romp of greenscreen absurdity, special effects and stock footage integrations. Helen Gilley directed and edited this whole thing and did a wonderful job. It's hilarious in all the right ways.

In an effort to not flood the site with only things I'm working on, here's a rundown of recent projects and involvements of mine that I'd love for you to be aware of:
Hott Minute: Maymorial Day - this new episode came out on Memorial Day and finds the hosts experiencing a lot of synchronicity; which leads to quite a bit of hilarious observations. Always a good listen.
Vidalotry: Gore's Watergate Fix - a great episode of the Gore Vidal podcast that follows Gore's suspicions of Nixon and how he was ultimately provided correct. Prescient you might say.
Quichenight Listening Party - if you're in Nashville, come by the Bowery Vault on Thursday, May 31st, to hear the new Quichenight record, Cooler Heads. No bands playing, just a good time with friends and great new music. Also, the album is out on Friday, June 1st, so just go ahead and save it to your Spotify.
Skyway Man, Liquid Landing Test 3 - again, for Nashville residents, come by The Basement tonight (May 30th) to hear Skyway Man play a handful of new songs off a forthcoming, as yet unfinished, record.
Forget Cassettes - "Venison" - I'm going to be continuing to post videos from this 2003 show at The End where Forget Cassettes played a bunch of songs from their first two albums, Instruments of Action and Salt. This particular song is from the later but the former is now on vinyl.
Garth Brooks Chris Gaines Countdown - I have mentioned this before and I WILL mention it again but I'm legitimately trying to ignite a campaign wherein Garth Brooks hosts SNL in honor of the 20th anniversary of his 1999 appearance as both himself and musical guest, Chris Gaines. It's over a year away but it's never too early to start a movement, right? Tweet about it!
That's not everything I'm up to but it's a nice overview. Hopefully something in that list hits you as enjoyable.
I mentioned this on the Safe as Milk podcast but I've really enjoying a listen through on this Gimlet media podcast The Habitat. The show follows six volunteers that are involved in a NASA funded project to see how humans will interact if they make it to Mars and are confined to a tiny living space. Basically, it's The Real World: Red Planet. I'm about halfway through it and there's no drama quite as bad as "reality tv" but it's still a bizarrely captivating look at the seemingly mundane.
There's also a full soundtrack to the show that features seven covers of Bowie's "Space Oddity." That may actually be a bit of overkill but the Haley Shaw original compositions are certainly worth a listen.
Been scouring the web looking for all the examples I can find of this Aoyama Nozomi / Wakida Asuka collaboration for the Japanese publication, Cosmopolitan. This Grafiku tag covers ten different issues but I have to assume there are more (like, 12 maybe?). Regardless, it's a fun and rewarding search as the two artists clearly have a wonderful dynamic of styles between the two of them.

Hey, lookie here! I'm on a podcast! Hosts Michael Flynn and Adam Tabib were kind enough to have me on their show, Safe as Milk, to discuss a few random things that I've been digging on lately and allow me to comment on their own weird obsessions.
I think I blew their minds while discussing Thrillington and revealing that I own Garth Brooks Chris Gaines Countdown, a site dedicated to bringing Garth Brooks and Chris Gaines back to the SNL stage for the 20th anniversary of their hosting.
All that is to say, it's a good listen. Have at it.
While I absolutely love that RuPaul gets a lot of coverage for Drag Race and it's many World of Wonder offerings, it's also important to remember that she came up in in the Drag World with Lady Bunny as her partner in crime. Where RuPaul was more Club Kid in her look, Lady Bunny is more "Pageant Queen" in her style. Those two sides of the same coin give a phenomenal perspective on the world of Drag, which extends far beyond what most are familiar with via Drag Race.
This Lady Bunny interview is such a compelling talk about that difference between Drag Race and Drag in general, I must recommend anyone with any tangential interest dive into it. She also talks about the "rules" that seem to have surfaced with Drag and how it's total BS; given that drag is an extension of self-expression and creativity... there are no rules.
