I must admit it, I never thought I'd see a yk records release on any of the Best Of lists from the previously mentioned 10x17 countdown. I am very pleased to be wrong.

Designer / Artist Nate Utesch selected Makeup and Vanity Set's Trackless as his Day 4 Selection. His re-imagining of the artwork is stellar and he even posted a VCR Dub Version over on his Instagram.

As a healthy juxtaposition to the classic sounds of Kmart Christmas, please give a listen to this Vaporwave Christmas Story compilation from Contemporary Tapes. While it has all the tenants and attributes that you'd expect from an album of Vaporwave artists (cassette quality, warbly vocals, phase shifting dubs) it's still a Christmas album and manages to capture a great deal of that uplifting spirit.

If you're hesitant, give a listen to "All I Want For Christmas Is You", "The Scut Farkus Affair" or "Last Christmas" for a healthy sampling of what to expect.
