Despite having seen a million Cat GIFs, I am still overjoyed at scenes like this. I'm sure the little buddy was fine but that fearful leap just never gets old.

Gearing up for a short week last week led to not a lot of browse time, so pickings are slim. Go listen to that Coupler record.

Gifts From The Ebb Tide, Released

The latest yk records release is available today. The "Deliberate Ambient Music" of Coupler is hard to put into words. Ambient Music, by definition, is meant to "create or enhance a mood or atmosphere." Brian Eno's Music for Airports was specifically intended to make waiting for a plane less grueling. As a genre, it's not something that you would necessarily listen to directly but Gifts from the Ebb Tide, for me, is a hypnotic and captivating experience. It's often a slow build but that is exactly what's so engaging about it.

The album is on Soundcloud and Bandcamp with the streaming services releasing it today as well.

The vinyl is available online and at shows. It turned out gorgeously and I'm indebted to Peter Skwiot Smith and Mia Krout for their imagery that became integral to the packaging.

Give it a listen and let it enhance your mood or atmosphere.
