Back in 2013,
Little Bandit recorded the song "Platform Shoes" and promptly shot a video for it. The song eventually landed on his full-length album
Breakfast Alone and last week Rolling Stone Country
relaunched the video.
The album is filled with macabre tales and "Platform Shoes" is among the top contenders for most harrowing. Watch the video - featuring
Margo Price and appearances by
Tristen,
Coco Hames, Amaia Agirre, Bekah Cope and Samantha Frances Cutler - to see the tough tale played out.
Watch the video
here, read the writeup
here and then
dive into the album.

I'd like to make it known that I am officially on the side of "fuck nazis" and it's weird that I feel like I need to say that.

The folks at
Keezy (that's
Jake Lodwick's latest company) have released
Jammer, their newest contribution to the world of looping musical apps. Like Keezy, the app aims to make loop based music more accessible through simple sampling and triggering. Jammer is as straightforward as it could be - circle buttons are loops, squares are one off samples and the whole thing keeps to a grid, so your creations never sound awkward. It's extremely enjoyable to be able to have no timing and still play around with music in this way.
The first version of the app launches with an exclusive Reggie Watts song and contributions from Anamanaguchi, Francis and the Lights, Mothica and more. Personally, I suggest firing up the Dirty Duck pack and enjoying some
Kazoo Kid aesthetics.

Someone was murdered at a Neo-Nazi rally today. That happened. In America. In 2017. It's time to make clear where we stand – all of us.

Fairly sure I could
watch that doggo for a solid hour and still be chuckling aloud every time he passes through the frame. Thank you Internet.

It hasn't been very long since the
previous volume of the
We Own This Town podcast but there is
so much good music coming out of Nashville that I'd be remiss not to continue compiling and releasing what I've got. I like to keep the runtime under 30 minutes so it's a no-brainer to give it a listen.
This is the
90th volume and I've already got the 91st complete; I just need to determine a regular schedule at which to release them. Many of these artists will pop up on future editions as well, given that their full records aren't out yet and there's plenty more to hear from them.
- WELLES - Life Like Mine
- The Lees of Memory - Keep a Tight Grip on Your Mind
- Cortney Tidwell - Blind
- GAY VIBES - No Chill (feat. Kyle Andrews)
- The By Gods - Rat in my House
- Commander Keen - Cowboy Killer
- Vekunin - Dance 2nitel

I think I can safely say that I've never seen artwork quite like the works of
Javier Gomar Llario, owner of
Javier's Blade barber shop. His wildly fluorescent, intricately styled hair pieces seem like a nod to the more audacious hairstyles of the 80's - both in color palette and presentation.
Comb through his Instagram and be sure to partake in the
video clips that really show off how bizarre is it to see from all angles.
There's a lot of rabbit holes to follow from here. You can dive into the
OMC Hairworld Competition, of which Javier participates. Or maybe dive into the
#BarberGoneWild tag for some
truly odd view.
