I saw the work of Januz Miralles back in 2013 and it's only gotten more diverse and realized in that time. I love the mixing of tools - illustrations under piles of paint, articulated imagery destroyed by streaks and the general chaos of it all. Plenty more to see on Instagram and Behance.

Semplice

Has anyone used Semplice? It is, as far as I can tell, "Squarespace for Wordpress." A visual editor built on top of the Wordpress source that allows you to build your site without knowing code. I have seen plenty of solutions that promise this exact same solution but have never been pleased with the result. The code might be messy or the actual cross device compatibility is low or some other reason that makes it a bad idea to use but I've got it on good authority that Semplice is different. And for that reason, I'm very curious to give it a spin.

I'm very happy to share a brand new video for the Uncle Skeleton track "Jeux." The video was created by Nashville artist MKAV and features a pleasantly intense visualization of the song. The folks at VDMX, who create the software used for the video, were kind enough to debut the video. So, just click on over there and watch it.

Music Digest

My buddies Bryan and J host a podcast over on BTR called The Music Digest in which they play songs they've never heard before and then simply react to it. It leads to a lot of absurd side conversations and ridiculousness. It's a good listen.

They were kind enough to invite me on an episode to share my own absurdities and opinions. You can hear the episode, Bernie Madoff Complex, streaming on the web, on iTunes or wherever you stream your podcasts. They even have their app.

It was a blast and I thank them for having them on. Hopefully you enjoy it!

Rain World

I recently encountered the game Rain World - a dystopian future side scroller where you operate a slug cat through the demolition and remains of the world. I actually read this exhaustive review of it before I'd seen any gameplay and was kind of hooked. The amount of hidden symbols used throughout and references to other similar worlds - Blade Runner, Brazil, Neuromancer, et al. - is impressive. I'm largely curious if those nods were intentional or just a result of personal immersion from the game makers. Regardless, it's worth a look.
