There are already tons of Meme'd out variations on the above Lady Gaga Leap image but I wanted to just keep it pure and simple; because it's crazy enough as it is.

I've been traveling this week so the selection here will be slim but I think you'll enjoy: I'm hestitant to include Popee the Performer in the mix. It's bizarre but maybe too bizarre. I haven't decided yet.

I got a bunch of rad bands, I got beer sponsorship and I'm donating all the proceeds to the TN Equality Project - so it's a selfless affair on top of being a fun night out!

Every Person In New York

Sam recently introduced me to the work of Jason Polan - a NY based artist best known for his New Yorker illustrations and his ambitious project; Every Person in New York. The undertaking is exactly what it sounds like:
"I am trying to draw every person in New York. I will be drawing people everyday and posting as frequently as I can. It is possible that I will draw you without you knowing it. I draw in Subway stations and museums and restaurants and on street corners. I try not to be in the way when I am drawing or be too noticeable. "
The images themselves vary in detail from extremly quick line sketches to detailed, R. Crumb-esque, depictions. I wish I could articulate why these are so fascinating but they are undeniable.

yk Records + TN Equality

I'm doing my damndest to promote this show, A Night of yk Records, that is coming up tomorrow, Feb 10th, at Mercy Lounge. My other blog and other twitter and Facebook event are going nuts with posts about the event in an attempt to raise awareness to get people to attend.

Then it dawned on me that I was faced with an opportunity to actually do some good with the money that may be raised by the event. So, all proceeds from the show will be given to TN Equality; an organization devoted to fighting for LGBTQ rights and against legislation that doesn't push those rights further. We have plenty of issues to worry about across the country so it's hard to pick a group where your money will be most effective but I believe in what TN Equality is doing and hope my small contribution can do some good, while providing a good time.

Creating an app is hard work. Creating an app that has slick animations is even harder. So, with that in mind, it's fascinating to see AirBNB releasing a tool that combines After Effects animations with React Native programming - Lottie. I've not used it yet but their examples are legitimately slick. I look forward to seeing more come out of this.
