I didn't post a Halloween music mix this year but I did give you plenty to listen to. I also gave an additional playlist of mostly Halloween jams. But if you still need more, let this be your infinite loop for the day:

KXVO "Pumpkin Dance" - the original dance onslaught that never gets old.
Shaboi Pumpkin Dance - same goodness set to Shaboi. Double your pleasure.
Meshuggah Pumpkin Dance - I don't know how but it works, in the most ridiculous way.
RIP VINE Pumpkin Dance Remix - how about 12 minutes of Pumpkin Dance Variations? Some great, some terrible.

Nashville Mixtapes Halloween Special - 80 minutes of perfect spooky jams from Brandon and WXNA
Makeup and Vanity Set - Wilderness - truth be told, any release from Makeup and Vanity Set works for today. Go nuts with Brigador or Never Let Go or Manifold or just about anything else in his discography.
The Entity From Between Dimensions - Transdimensional Tricks and the Treat Which Lies Beyond - it's a helluva album title and the song titles include greatness such as " Ancient Transcendental Mysteries of the Witch Planet" and "Alien Screams Grow Faint As Eternity Forges Onward." Great for today or any day you're looking to terrify yourself.

Halloween is a visual treat no matter where you live but Halloween in NYC in the early 90's was certainly something else. This archive of photos is a nice reminder of the kind of all-out costuming that went on. The first color photo in that set is sure to stop you in your tracks and it just gets better from there.

What an awkward weekend for Halloween! Tonight's the night to get hype for your weekend but technically you gotta save a little bit of that festive juice for Monday - when the real deal happens. So, here's a playlist of Halloween-ish items to get you in the mood without being a full on ghoulish offering. Many of these are classics but I think you'll enjoy the revisit.

Bat for Lashes - What's a Girl to Do - this song / video are nine years old and still damn good.
The Shins - Dead Alive - brand new Shins track with a nice absurd Halloween fever dream.
Panda Bear - Surfer's Hymn - out of the grave and into the surf.
Nicolas Godin - Widerstehe Doch Der Sunde - an accidental part two for the above, more surfing zombie ghouls
Toro Y Moi - How I Know - I never tire of this song and perfectly executed haunted house.

I'm a little miffed at myself for not getting together a proper Halloween mix as I have in years past but I suppose there's still time. In lieu of that, enjoy the following:

OST Halloween Special - Part 1 of Sam Smith's phenomenal soundtrack compilation.
OST Halloween Special Part 2 - more of the same greatness from above. Don't sleep on this. Literally. It will induce nightmares.
Shaboi - Curse Walk - ah doi I'm going to recommend this every year as an instant classic until I'm dead.

This past weekend I was fortunate enough to appear on the Nashville Mixtapes radio show on WXNA. The initial plan was to play a bunch of YK Records artists but due to the style of radio license that WXNA has, it felt like it would be a bit too close to a commercial for my label. This is an understandable concern and resulted in a much more diverse mix - plenty of music from all over the place.

Please give it a listen and then remind yourself to listen to Nashville Mixtapes on Saturday mornings from 9am-11am CST (it's on the Internet). Brandon is an awesome host and I am quite thankful to him for the opportunity to play these songs.
