A good rule for music at kids' birthday parties is don't play anything by Gary Glitter.

Congrats on your first week of doing whatever you did in 2016. I look forward to what the rest of the year holds - including a bunch more ridiculous GIFs, videos and, ideally, an upgrade to Friday Videos to be able to include more than just Youtube and Vimeo clips. Cheers!
- Raccoon Candy Floss - I feel bad for this little dude but sometimes magic is dark.
- NYE as a Bouncer - 9 minutes of hidden camera footage capturing real drunk, real dumb club go-ers. Couldn't turn away.
- Matt Berry - Take My Hand - I've been watching Matt Berry in some incarnation or another for many years. This version of the Toast of London theme song is just a solid, non-weird, performance from him. Sometimes it's good to balance things out.
- Nathan Barley - Smoked Salmon Coffee - as an addendum to my earlier post about the goodness of Nathan Barley, please enjoy this clip in which Dan Ashcroft is bested once again by the idiots.
- Bushes of Love - if you haven't seen this bizarre Bad Lip Reading Star Wars Music Video, partake! It is quite strange.
- David Bowie - Blackstar - the man is 69 years old today and still keeping it weird in a good way. Kudos Mr. Bowie.
- SNL Cut for Time: Tweet - I love these Cut For Time sketches. This one has a particularly impressive production value and some surprises that I won't spoil.
How about some more non-embeddable entertainment? Look at
these two weirdos using
Face Swap Live - this weeks greatest app. Or what about
this handy dog or
cat burglar? Oh, and I died laughing watching
this way too many times. Okay, enough of that!
Enjoy yourself.

It's like Billy Childish says, "We live in troubled times". Last week, we got a sneak peek at what goes on behind the curtains of our criminal justice system. A few sleepless nights later we gathered in the studio and wrote this song. Written, recorded, mixed and mastered in 2 days.

"Lake Superior"
Verse 1:
On a stretch of sand, sweet northern breeze
Manitowoc put Avery on the beach
Your alibi, will never do
When the whole town's got it out for you
Judge fox, the Great Lake stain
Got Superior wanting to pull its own drain
To abandon the shore, where the poor get whipped
And the fat get fatter and the rich stay rich
Where the mice of men are chained and bruised
Where to stand accused is to admit you lose
Chorus:
I wanna know
People outdoor
Ain't gonna go out and act insane
My Baby girl
Out in a world
All alone burns a hole in my brain
I wanna know
People outdoor
Ain't gonna go out and act insane
My baby boy
Pride and joy
He's gonna go out and do the same
Verse 2:
In the hall of harm disgraceful sounds
Manitowoc knows how to gavel pound
They crack it right and shoot on site
Do you know where your baby is tonite?
The red tide is back again
Old Superior's new McCarthy clan
Back on the shore, where the poor get whipped
And the fat get fatter and the rich stay rich
Where the mice of men are chained and bruised
Where to stand accused is to admit you lose

I designed and animated this piece as an homage to my favorite show of all time, HBO's The Wire.
Music: "Way Down in the Hole" / The Blind Boys of Alabama.

I'm just now seeing the NY Times curated
Best Book Covers of 2015 collection. Some seriously impressive work there. My question is: do they now put cover art credit inside the book credits or does it remain attributed to the Publisher? Hopefully the former and not the latter.

The nerdiest way to explain
Rabble is that it's
MST3K for anyone. You can record an audio track for any event, movie or silly ole thing you want to. OR you can tune in as a listener and hear the silliness provided as an alternate audio track. Their primary angle is going for Niche Sports Broadcasting - instead of listening to the regular announcers, you can mute your TV and listen to plenty of other folks call the game.
Personally, I've no interest in the Sports angle of things but I can certainly see a lot of potential in watching a movie with a commentary track, a full-blown nerd rant or even a 90 minute list of minutia about the film. They've got some work to do but I like the potential!
