Time will tell if this actually nets out but, regardless, it’s a great profile on Merrick Garland and the position he is in.

Recently became aware of the work of South Korean based illustrator
Jisu Choi and I'm
smitten! There's so much detail to immerse yourself in on every single piece. I'm bewildered how anyone makes work like this but I'm incredibly appreciative to be able to spend time with it.
The official site is likely the best spot for larger res images but giving a gander to
Twitter and
Instagram is certainly worth your time as well.

Great insight on the enjoyable improviser and her new special, Kate (which I did not know existed until right now!).

“It's often cheaper to build and run solar than to buy gas for an existing plant.”
That sub headline is, hopefully, the turning point we need.

When my friends at the
Devalued podcast wanted to start a show discussing the difficult relationship between art and money, I was all for it. Artists of all flavors rarely get to talk about these topics out in the open and it's better for everyone if the hardships of being a creative person are laid out there. For their sixth episode, they managed to land a chat with
legendary recording engineer Steve Albini.
Albini has always made himself very accessible. His Chicago studio Electrical Audio is not overpriced in a way that only giant artists can work with him - even though he's worked with the likes of Nirvana, Pixies, The Breeders, PJ Harvey. His insights into the benefits of recording in a studio, the strength of community he witnessed back in the early punk days and the troubled relationship between art and commerce are wonderfully insightful.
For just six episodes, the show has managed to nab a lot of great guests. Highly recommend you subscribe and
listen to the backlog.

My favorite takeaway from this piece is that GIFs are effective when they are outside the realm of copyright. Giphy struggles b/c it can’t mainstream IP violation.

Look, I don't care that much about cryptocurrency but I have to say it feels good to see this kind of change that is tackling one of their biggest issues. It doesn't make crypto less of a grift but it does make it slightly less harmful (I hope).
