• Kitten vs Ceramic Cat - future best friends or mortal enemies?
• Self Performs "Runaway" - great to see Self finally making their national television debut. It's only taken roughly 20 years, but they DID it. Also be sure to watch them perform Lucid Anne.
• Japanese Anti Piracy Ad 1 - this is so much fun and childish for such a serious thing they are attempting to fight.
• Captain Baby - Olive In the Ocean (Official Video) - love a simple video for a solid song with such good execution.
• sausage groove - put on repeat. forever.
• Horde - the style of this is mind boggling rad. Love the 3D realistic stuff mixed with the more stylized cartoonish. Really great. via Erica.
• How To Have Cybersex On The Internet - I'm mostly amazed at the interface here. REAL TIME / NET .CON
• Paranormal Pugtivity - stupid but worth a watch.
• Atlanta! Part 5 - I'm planning a trip to Atlanta in September and now I have all the inspiration I'll ever need.
• The Worst Hacking Scenes in Movies - meant to post this last week, a helluva compilation. via Patrick.
• 10 Minutes Of Heavy Breathing Cat - I watched the entire 10 minutes of this and was absolutely crying with laughter.

I was unaware of the work of Colossal until recently but, turns out, I've seen plenty of it around town. Not to be too obvious but I think that's the biggest draw to publicly installed sign art - the unconscious awareness that comes with seeing great work. I mean, look at this thing! Or this!

I look forward to seeing more of their work without even knowing it.

Really been enjoying the smattering of music I've been hearing from Bombay Heavy. This video for "Non Pants is a great use of public domain footage. I've been repeating the song quite a bit lately. Hope to hear more from them soon.

My late start to launching this years Summer Mix Series probably put a damper on a flood of incoming mixes as people are busier later in the summer but that hasn't prevented there from being a higher level of quality amongst the submissions. So far, all of them are good. I'm particularly enjoying this Surfing the Grid mix from Davis and this Summer Rain mix from Starsky.

When available, these are streamable from the site. So if you are shying away from downloading - have no fear! Summer Mix Series is on board with your instant gratification needs.

Watching this Marilyn Myller short film is an enjoyable undertaking - black and white throughout, great use of light, really amazing transitions and pacing. And then you read this description:

A year in the making, the full six minute stopmotion short features the voice of Josie Long, one zillion hand carved tiny things, literally tens of carved foam puppets, two eye fulls of in-camera, long-exposure light trickery and a pair of tiny dolphins, smooching.

And your enjoyment level skyrockets. It's somehow more appreciable knowing that there are "one zillion hand carved tiny things" that created this.

Every year that Lee Gilmore makes it to Comic-Con is a good year for the rest of us. Not for the onslaught of entertainment news that seems to be embody the convention these days but for the pure documentary cataloging of lots and lots of cosplay. As the event has grown in popularity the costumes have gotten more and more unbelievable. From the perfect recreations to awesome combinations to the weirdly perfect - it's all there.

I've been a fan of the work of Asher Rogers - aka Captain Baby for some time. He's got a solid visual style and, now, we can add Quality Album Maker to the list.

Loving the illustration style from Mr Kiji. It seems alarmingly simple at first but the simple textures and color schemes really are something special. Be sure to check the Mural work out while you're there.
