Absolutely loving the Computer Virus Catalog - a repository of classic virii depicted as original illustrations. It's tough to pick a favorite but I'm certainly partial to the Karborn piece and any of the infections that were more hilarious than harmful.

In case you didn't happen to catch it on their Instagram, the newest EP from Self is now available. It's the first official, cohesive, release since the b-side compilation Porno, Mint & Grime in 2005. There has been a smattering of single songs here and there since then but nothing you'd call an album or EP. So, as a Self superfan, it's a welcome bit of news. It's on Rdio, Spotify, iTunes, Amazon.

While you're checking that out be sure to see the video for "Runaway", see them on Kimmel tomorrow and listen to "Hey, Hipster" - potentially the most contentious song in the Self catalog.

If you're looking for a little distraction, sit down with Game About Squares. It's a game, about Squares. It's all right there in the name.

I posted about this in the sidebar but please, please, take some time today to read this wonderful piece by Kevin Kelly - You Are Not Late. It is, at the core of it, a reminder that the Internet is still in its early days and all things are still quite possible.

In terms of the internet, nothing has happened yet. The internet is still at the beginning of its beginning. If we could climb into a time machine and journey 30 years into the future, and from that vantage look back to today, we'd realize that most of the greatest products running the lives of citizens in 2044 were not invented until after 2014. People in the future will look at their holodecks, and wearable virtual reality contact lenses, and downloadable avatars, and AI interfaces, and say, oh, you didn't really have the internet (or whatever they'll call it) back then.

And that's just a PIECE of the whole. If you've forgotten what a pioneering time we live in, now's the moment to remind yourself.

Jade Doskow has several compelling collections of images - I particularly enjoy this Red Hook set - but I'm really fascinated by his visitation of 19th Century and 20th Century World's Fair Sites. Sure, it's good to see Nashville in the mix but I'm smitten with this Geodesic Dome and Habitat Complex. It's been almost 50 years since their construction but they are every bit as interesting now as they must have been originally.

This week may seem a little heavy on the music videos but I promise they offer some serious entertainment. Enjoy the videos and, moreso, enjoy the weekend.

• sElf - Runaway - nothing like going quiet for 14 years and then coming back with a new EP, a cat filled music video and a national television debut.
• Wiggle Pole Dance Clarinet - words fail to encapsulate the enjoyment presented here.
• you could stop at five or six stores - I assume this is meant as a cautionary tale for anyone considering having a go of it in Hollywood.
• Old Man Dance Explosion - yes, it's an old man dancing wildly at a party. yes, your aunt would love it. yes, there's nothing wrong with that.
• Kids Cursing In Movies Mashup - obviously NSFW but a helluva compilation.
• Spoon - "Do You" - it's a slow churn but it's an unbelievably good video. Reminiscent of the heyday of MTV's best.
• Tammy and the T-Rex Phone Scene - this is the clip that the above GIF was taken from. Not quite as funny in context but I do love a dinosaur arm.
• Mount Sharp - "Icarus" official video - just a healthy reminder that you should be enjoying this video, telling your friends and pre-ordering the vinyl.
• Brian May - Star Fleet - FACT: anyone that was in Queen loves a floating head effect. FACT: the movie this is tied too looks awesome. FACT: the majority of this song is a guitar solo and that's completely fine by me.

Here's the deal: Austin, TX's Mondo has got it figured out. When it comes to delivering unique pieces of collectible art that appeal to a true, undying, fan. They have it nailed. Their posters are unbelievable, their album re-issues are out of this world and now they're doing vinyl toys. Including these Mousers and an Iron Giant to name but a few.
