I mean, what's happening here?? The earlier work is definitely different but you can see the seeds of inspiration at work. Really crazy stuff. I'm speechless!
The official site and accompanying Kickstarter campaign recently launched for Baron Fig - a series of notebooks intended for sketching, writing, designing, etc. Apparently they were designed with the creative thinker in mind and will, supposedly, solve some of the common problems that people have with their current line of notebooks. Honestly, I'm not unhappy with any the current notebooks I use but I'm all for some diversity and really enjoy the design of the Baron Fig site. So, it's obvious that they've got their head in the right place and have a great product coming our way soon.
Remember the days when Flash websites created immersive "worlds"? Well, with experiments like Wagerfield Parallax we're on our way back to that. It's debatable how useful it is but it's undeniable that it looks great and runs incredibly smoothly (in Chrome at least). Happy to see these kinds of experiences coming back around.
Cartoonist Gavin Than runs ZenPencils - a repository of inspirational quotes illustrated for greater impact. His take on Bill Watterson's Cartoonist Advice is remarkable - he did a great job emulating the Watterson style; right down to the red wagon jubilation. It's so good, you might look twice and think Watterson himself did it. The message is undeniably great too - always a nice bonus.
There's plenty of quality photography from Stefan Fuertbauer but you can't really beat this ongoing Eiterquellen series documenting "Viennese Wurstel Diners." The little free standing bodega joints have so much personality and the presentation is just perfect.
I've professed my love of Wijtze Valkema's illustration style before but now I can put my money where my mouth is and show off his work with multiple iPhone desktops. I think the conductor man eating toast is my personal choice but the other two are equally as enjoyable. Follow Wijtze on Instagram to get the heads up on goods like this.
Loving the concept behind Aharon TV - the "metrics-based television diary." It definitely takes some commitment to review and rate every episode of TV you watch but it'd be worth it to be able to pinpoint your favorite series and episode within each series. Turns out he does not like Family Ties and is pretty iffy on the later seasons of Frasier.
Apologies on the absence but the past week has been spent moving to TN, packing up a storage unit, packing up a van, driving my lady up to NYC and then settling her stuff into the apartment. Moving up here has been great for work but now I totally expect the Personal Life side of things to skyrocket as well. Thought you'd all want to know, things are good.

Lately, we've been using Hackpad as an alternative to Google Docs. It's a much more streamlined solution to collaborative document editing. Granted, it cuts out a lot of features but most of them aren't missed at all. Sharing docs of this nature should be no hassle and Hackpad definitely makes it super easy. Happy to have it in the toolbelt.
Another quick-but-enjoyable video from the Talking With Hands record, The World and Ourselves. The footage was shot recently on a whale watching trip up north. It's a fitting pairing for such a beautifully sprawling song.
The GIF Hell site aggregates the most popular GIF's on Twitter right now and archives them. I'm actually not clear on the exact tech behind it but, whatever it is, it makes for a baffling repository of pop culture imagery - most of which seems to be people hurting themselves, amusing cats,occasional pornography, movie references and male teen idols. Lots of those actually. All and all, it's a pretty accurate summary of the Internet.
