This past weekend I had the distinct pleasure of going to the Porter Flea - a marketplace of local artists and crafts folk selling their wares. I saw a ridiculous amount of great stuff. Among the masses was printer Jude Landry. His portfolio has no shortage of great typographic pieces and Louisiana flavor. His store has a bevy of great items as well - so don't miss those.

Out The Other doesn't mess around when it comes to a quality Christmas mix. I already reminded you to head over to her relaunched site and grab one of her classics but now she's posted a brand new mix - Bygone Christmas Classics. It's a compilation of lost tunes from the 40's, 50's and 60's that deserve to be unearthed. Fortunately, Janet's done all the hard work and put them into one mix.

Over the weekend I was told about Twitter Cards, a set of content attribution meta-tags that augments a Twitter post to a particular page. It works a whole lot like Facebook's Open Graph protocol... even down to having its own Linter to test out what you've done. The weird part is that apparently you have to apply to participate? As in, the tags won't work until you tell Twitter that they're there and someone reviews them? Hopefully this is a holdover from the announcement because it's an awful idea. Aside from that, it looks great and I plan on integrating them here soon.

I love the way Tumblr handles their photo sets modals. The huge overlay with previews on the left and right is perfect. So, I was overjoyed to see that Casey took it upon himself to make an open source version named Photumblr. I've used it on a few in-development sites and it works great. I think it's going to be your new standard tool for such things.

You know, I didn't have much time this week to browse around and enjoy the bevy of Internet videos making the rounds but this playlist is still strong. It's weird but it's solid. Enjoy.

• Weber Cooks - Chili & Cheese Nacho Dip - no surprises here, just a solid Chili & Cheese recipe.
• Baguette Magic - yes, this is a weird Japanese Taiwan magician. Yes, at 4:30 he produces the worlds largest baguette out of some dough and thin air. MAGIC.
• Drew Peterson: Untouchable - probably shouldn't laugh at a Lifetime movie based on someone's legitimate strife but this is unbearably ridiculous.
• Wolfman's Gallery Furniture - excellent use of green screen technology and a helluva beard. I strive for this look at some point in my life. Thanks Paul.
• Cat Dreams - this seems like the cat is having a medical fit but, turns out, it's just a really good dreamer.
• Cat Special Forces - Yes this is just another cat video compilation but it has larger implications. Mostly it backs up my theory that videos from Russia are overtaking the web as the most ridiculous. Pay attention, it's a slow creep but it's totally been happening.
• Boston Bun - Housecall - I know the VHS aesthetic is getting overplayed a lot lately but this is one of the more perfect executions. It's exactly the amount of strange that you hope to find on an actual cassette.

Today marks the official open of Mayday! Brewery in Murfreesboro, TN. Not only is it a huge accomplishment from my fellow Whiskerino alumni Ozzy Nelson but it's a cause for appreciation of a phenomenal collection of graphic design from friend Austin Gray. I mean, check out those tap designs, insane!

I realize not many of you find yourself in a suburb of Nashville, TN but, if you do, please stop by Mayday. It's good people and good beer all around.

I'll be honest, I probably haven't looked at an issue of Nintendo Power since roughly 1993? When I heard that the powers that be were pulling the plug on the publication I assumed it had been gone for years. Turns out, Leslie Levings has the honor of designing the final cover and it's an excellent sendup to the very first issue. Just this once, let your nostalgia run wild and really soak in that imagery.

Remember this video from Cesar Kuriyama that depicted 1 second from every day of his 30th year? Well, he's turned that idea into an app. It's similar to Everyday - the daily iPhone app to photograph yourself except that it focuses more on video. So, the concept isn't anything crazy new but I do like the route that Kuriyama has taken saying that the video allows him to reflect back on his decisions and his life a little better than a still image would. That's a subjective take but, for whatever reason, one I kinda agree with.

The Kickstarter claims that the app is 85% finished. So you should feel confident that if you support it, you'll likely actually get the goods!
