• Happiest DJ in the World - I love this guy so much. No mockery involved at all, I honestly love his enthusiasm.
• Skatt Brothers - SKATT ROLL'd - I'll be honest.. I've no idea what's going on with this but I find it ridiculous and hysterical. Give thanks to Davis for the absurdity.
• Sex Room - Paige and Kevin introduced me to this and made the great observation that there is not even a slight attempt at being clever here - it's just up front about everything. Ridiculous. I don't recommend watching more than the first minute.
• Miles Kurosky - The World Won't Last the Night - great video from ex-Beulah frontman Miles Kurosky done by my friend Mike Landry.. love the effects.
• The Incredible Sonovox - It's a new miracle of electricity! I could listen to music like this for days.
• Tracy Morgan's "Invictus" Audition Tape - a little long and it ends on a low note but Tracy Morgan being Tracy Morgan always has some gems.
• Gate of Hades iDosing - are you familiar with the up and coming drug trend called iDosing? Apparently kids are listening to "repetitive, atonal tracks" and receiving a high off of it.. sort of like a sensory deprivation chamber I assume. I love that it's called iDosing and it's so incredibly dumb to think of it as a drug threat.

Channel 4 has a nice little 360 VR of the IT Crowd Offices - complete with interactive labeling on a great deal of the artwork and other various decorations found in their space. Honestly, there's not quite enough labeling for my taste but it's a start. It's really quite impressive how well done the set is with proper nerd and, surprisingly, tons and tons of Alan Moore references.

• Send to Dropbox - email files to your Dropbox account. I don't know what you might need to use this for but it is good to know it exists.
• iScroll - easy way to setup a fixed div with mobile / iPhone scrolling. Think of it as overflow: scroll for your site.
• My Band Facebook App - I really know very little in terms of Facebook App-ery but it does seem like band pages need some sprucing up and overall help. This seems to get the job done in a nice, clean way.

Uhh, this animation for TakePart: Participant Media is completely compelling. Love it from start to finish. The message is, obviously, worthwhile and should be taken to heart.. it's just nice to see a video animated this well that keeps the user engaged through their message.

After the success of The Hangover it was pretty clear that Zach Galifianakis was going to be cast in tons of movies. I'm sure there will be some backlash but, for me, it's still a treat to see his style of humor in a regular movie.

• It's Kind of a Funny Story - aside from Zach G, it appears to have Jim Gaffigan, Aasif Mandvi, Lauren Graham, Adrian Martinz and lead Keir Gilchrist. Honestly, it appears to be a bit schmaltzy in terms of plot (boy checks himself into mental hospital, falls in love with crazy girl) but the writer / directors behind it are responsible for several other good movies ("Half Nelson" in particular) so I'll give it a shot.
• Due Date - from The Hangover director comes a buddy road movie with Zach G and Robert Downey Jr. For my taste, it's a promising comedy.. I have a hard time hating on just about anything Robert Downey, Jr is in.

Loving the controlled drip style of Maurizio Bongiovanni. I am reminded of the old "pixel stretch" style from the early 2000's but this has a much more compelling feeling - particularly given that the works are oil on canvas. Without a doubt, this piece is my favorite of the bunch but there's plenty of goodness to see.

Take some time to read about the process of photographer / paraglider George Steinmetz. Basically he's got a fairly lightweight setup to get him airborne into a aerial space not quite as high as a plane but not quite as low as being bound to the ground. Images like those of Arabia's Empty Quarter are fascinating from such a viewpoint. Take some time to look through all the photo series and read up on his process.

Eli reminded me of an incredible story that John Baldwin had told me some time ago about the 10cc song "I'm Not In Love" - in which the band recorded an absolutely epic number of backing vocals through tape loops to create the ethereal sound of the song. For some reason I'd never looked up the proper Making Of Video to get further insight into the process but I highly recommend you spend some time with it... even if you're not a 10cc fan, it's a fascinating process.

Many thanks to Mr. Burr for the heads up on this news that Film Annex has posted all seven of Andrei Tarkovsky's films online for free viewing. Honestly, I'm not familiar with much of his work outside of the 1972 Solaris but I'm curious to see more. The pacing is, to say the least, very slow but manages to maintain a level of engagement many other directors would lose right out of the gate. If you need a rundown of where to start with his filmography, check out these quick summaries to give you an idea of what you're in for.

I wrote about this over on We Own This Town but in case you don't happen to read that site (I don't blame you) it should be noted that today marks the release date for my pal Keegan DeWitt and his new EP Nothing Shows. The seven track undertaking is being released by Daytrotter - their first non-Daytrotter Session release as far as I know.

Long story short, I personally believe you should procure said EP (Digitally or Physically) and immediately put "Say La La" into your heavy rotation for the remainder of the summer. If you're not immediately grabbed by that one, I'm not sure we're on the same wavelength musically (also okay). Other tracks like "Hearts Beat Loud", "Tired of Love" and "Nothing Shows" will find their way into your brains enjoyment cortex with just a few listens.

Jee Hoon Stark has a number of works that grabbed my eye - matchbooks, various paintings and sketches, etc. but none caught my eye quite as much as the Toilet Stories Diorama. Aside from being amusing to say, I have to admit that I'm a sucker for a proper miniature - and these deliver on every level.

I suggested to Daniel that we try to get a show of these works at the Smallest Art Gallery - fingers crossed we hear back because I'd love to see these up close and personal.

Andrew Kim, aka curator of Design Fabulous, decided to take on the task of designing a high-end HTC phone - calling it the HTC 1. As far as mockups go, there are loads of solid ideas found throughout here. A little healthy competition in the phone market is a good thing and it'd be nice to see a super slick HTC / Android phone giving iPhone a run for its money (note: much of that depends on the Android software stepping it up). Even if you aren't into the phone design or the notion of an HTC phone that might be worth your while, you should appreciate the through process that goes into putting something like this together. I love seeing the panel of Inspiration and Ideation that helped Kim get to the end result.

There are eighty some odd pages of goods to look through in the Art of the Luggage Label and much of it is quite good and/or design inspiring in some way. The styles for each hotel run an extremely wide range so there is bound to be something in there that appeals to your sensibilities. Personally I think I am drawn to the alot of the simpler pieces but there are plenty of other gems to be unearthed.

While maybe not as rewatchably hilarious as Boy Finds Real Life ET you really should take a moment to watch Apple Unveils Friend Bar from The Onion News Network. The little details found throughout the video - like the conversation starters at the bar - are perfect. I think I enjoy Apple mockery way more than any other nerd topic, particularly when done this well.

The folks over at Veer.com have redesigned but the overall change feels much more subtle than your typical redesign. Loads of elements have been moved around, layouts widened, buttons changed, more consistency established site-wide, etc but the previous Veer "vibe" remains intact; so it feels like massive housecleaning moreso than a full redesign. Regardless, I've always been a fan of the typography collection Veer has and typically go their first when in search of some font related inspiration. I'm glad my return trips will be even more pleasant now with the reworking.

For the past few years I've always put together a mix for the Summer Mix Series called Summer Nights - a collection of songs meant to be listened to on a warm evening; great background music while hanging with friends or just sitting by yourself contemplating whatever it is that you may have to contemplate. Basically, it's a very low key mix of music - originally started as an offset to the more upbeat mixes that I put out regularly.

Long story short, Summer Nights V is available for you to download; either as individual tracks or one single mp3 mix. It's also up on the mix series if you'd like to leave a comment there.
