Paul Nicholson interview is brief but enlightening. He walks through the process of how he created the Aphex Twin logo and packaging for
Selected Ambient Works Vol 2, as well as throws in some anecdotes about his friendship with Richard James. The quote at the end is especially poignant:
"Within the music industry there's a freedom and willingness for cutting edge and experimental artwork that you just don't get in most areas of design."
These days there's also a lot less money in music industry design but that comes with the creative freedom territory.
