a rhetorical or literary figure in which words, grammatical constructions, or concepts are repeated in reverse order, in the same or a modified form; e.g. 'Poetry is the record of the best and happiest moments of the happiest and best minds.'While this concept is generally applied to poetry or literature, it can apply elsewhere. An interesting example is this Robocop Chiasmus Review, in which the 1987 film is inspected start to finish for it's mirrored properties. I don't think this is especially rare in film but it isn't often that you get to pore over such a detailed breakdown.
