The other day my friend Justin tweeted that he was rather excited about a new app called Soundtracking. From what I could understand it was a way to "Check In" somewhere but supplied additional info about the music that was accompanying wherever you were. I was intrigued. However, based on what I'm seeing on the app's official site it seems to just be a bunch of people using the app to post songs they like. I don't get it. It's just a snippet of the song as well so you don't really get much out of it. Can someone clear up for me what it is that I'm missing about this?

It's entirely possible that it's just a useless app (for me) but I trust Justin too much to make that assumption too quickly.
