Stairway to Evan

The second full-length from Evan P Donohue has been out for a few weeks and I've been soaking it in. I was a regular fan of his first release, Rhythm & Amplitude, because of its feel good nature and Elvis Costello inspired styles. I expected much the same from the followup.
However, having really sat with the followup, Stairway to Evan, I've found that there is much more to it. Tracks like "She's Mine, I'm Yours" and "Felix" certainly carry that swagger that I was expecting but much of the rest of the album manages to find a balance between an engaging upbeat groove and just the right melancholy underpinning.
Long story short, I'm a fan and hope this one makes it far and wide outside of just the Nashville area.
