Josh Horton, founder of the
Creative Workers Union has recently launched a new companion podcast entitled
State of the Union. Horton has been putting together creative conferences since 2014! He has the insight and experience to talk openly and candidly about what he sees happening in the world of creative work.
I am a guest speaker at
Creative Works East 2025 and highly appreciate Horton's insight into the festival, the struggles with ticket sales and the empathy around the expense of it all. In this
intro episode he also discusses the hardships he is seeing across the industry with finding a job or finding freelance work. If nothing else, it's nice to know others are experiencing the same difficulties.
First episode is a quick entry - less than 20 minutes. I suspect future episodes will be some insightful and engaging chats with creative people.
