It's been quite awhile since I dipped into the world of
The Heads of State. Last I looked, they were kicking ass at gig poster design without any inclination of slowing down. In that time, it seems they've expanded their reach into book cover design. They reworked a series of Steinbeck Classics for Penguin Books and posted a rather insightful
walkthrough of the work. Looking at all of the iterations provided, it's hard to determine how they decided what design was stronger than another, as they're all remarkable.
