This weekend HBO aired Talking Funny, a one hour special curated by Ricky Gervais in which he and three other notable comics sit down and just discuss the business of comedy. It's interesting to see the contrast in how Gervais thinks of comedy (and why he did stand-up at all) in comparison to the others. The same interest applies to how Louis CK takes on his set versus Jerry Seinfeld. All and all, a worthy hour to partake in but it's almost too loose. I found myself wanting a little more structure to their conversation or, at the very least, the promise of a Part Two.
