Teddy Girls

Been doing some cruising around learning about Teddy Girls, a mid-1950's British youth subculture known for their Edwardian dress and general tomfoolery. They were an offshoot of Teddy Boys, a similar group known for their outfits but more notorious for stirring up trouble. There are plenty of informative articles about them and a rather impressive amount of Google Images (though I suspect some are more modern).
The photos largely stem from Ken Russell, an aimless photographer at the time that went on to become a well respected film director. I high suggest seeking more of his work.
