There are several things about this list of oldest registered domains worth taking note of. 1) Symbolics.com is the oldest registered domain in the system and the site itself is an odd mix of new design and poorly done old design. Appropriate. 2) There were only six domains registered in 1985 and it wasn't until late 1986 that the very nerd sounding domain was obtained - Stargate.com.

Sort of a silly list but oddly fascinating to know that Octopus.com was registered on Nov. 17th, 1986.
