The Gastrotypographicalassemblage

\"Gastrotypographicalassemblage\"
I\'d seen this image several times before but upon seeing it on Madrids Tumblr I was reminded that I didn\'t actually know anything about it.. it was just a great piece of design work. So, this may be old news to the majority of you but I finally did my due diligence and looked it up. The piece is called \"The Gastrotypographicalassemblage\" and was designed by Lou Dorfsman (along with Herb Lubalin and Tom Carnase) for CBS. All of the text and imagery on the 35-foot wide design epic is food related, as it resided in the cafeteria of the building from 1966 to the early 90\'s. Sadly it was discarded around that time and it wasn\'t until around 2008 that restoration began on reviving such an incredible piece of work from the past.

Read more about it here, here or here. Check out the restoration process here.
