The latest
yk Records release was put out into the world today. The sophomore album from
The Medium,
For Horses, is now
streaming everywhere or available on
limited edition vinyl (or digital download, or CD).
Bandcamp once described the band as "woozy psych-pop hat draws on the sound of the ’60s." That's absolutely true and likely even moreso with this new album. If you've been listening to them for any amount of time, this record is clearly an effort to stretch and evolve into new territory without losing sight of what they do best (lotsa harmonies).
Personally, I'm really partial to the classic sounds of "
Don't Stay Out, the wonderful melancholy of "
No Highway Cowboys," and the absurdity of "
Space Horse." I'm certainly biased about the record but if you're a fan of 60's pop/rock bands, I am confident this is up your alley.
