Fixing the news is a lofty goal but from the looks of WikiTribune - a new project from Wikipedia's own Jimmy Wales - there's some potential hope on the horizon. The idea is pretty familiar if you've ever looked at Wikipedia changelogs - WikiTribune aims to take fact-based journalism and combine it with crowd sourced validation. It's community driven, not advertising driven.
