WIRED Science has an
interesting episode about the pros and cons of recording music in the digital vs analog format. They bring in
Steve Albini for analog and
Ken Andrews for digital. Both make some legitimate points but I think both fail to touch on the notion that the preferred method of recording should probably be somewhat based on the end listener. Granted, the argument being tackled is "which is superior?" but I'm of the mindset that all the factors have to be considered - including who it is that will be listening to the final recording.
side note: thumbs down to WIRED for creating a viral video player that can't scale down at all. Sorry for the huge video post, I had no other option.
