Another week, another batch of weird and, hopefully, entertaining videos. For those of you on a non-Flash friendly device please visit the
playlist on Youtube and cross your fingers that someone will come up with an HTML5 friendly method of embedding playlists someday. For the rest of you, enjoy the embed above or just visit the individual videos that pique your interest below:
- How To Get A Guy To Notice You While You're Having Sex With Him - obviously a bit of NSFW subject matter and illustration here but, man, it is perfectly absurd and hilarious. The cooking illustration made me lose it. via Mixel.
- Children Enjoy Dinosaur - if this happened during my childhood it would either be a moment I relived forever through nightmares or through joyous recollection.
- Admiral Ackbar - Penetrate It - quick little behind the scenes puppetry of everyone's favorite Star Wars weirdo.
- Crater Face - short film animation with some feel good vibes coursing throughout it. The end is sweet and, oddly, a little brutal too. via Josh.
- Casa de mi Padre trailer - I don't want to know if this trailer is real or not. I have decided to believe that it is and await the full-length release.. whenever that may, or may not, be.
- Star Trek: TNG: The XXX Parody - this is completely safe for work (especially more-so than that Onion video). Honestly, aside from the bad wigs, this is an entirely accurate portrayal of the show.
- Scooter Computer and Mr. Chips - a previously unreleased Schoolhouse Rocks short about computers that was, I assume, created to quell the public's fear about the forthcoming computer overlords. The best part is that the musical interludes feel like a subversive Pink Floyd b-side that it's lying to you.. Mr. Chips knows he will be sentient one day.
- Pop Tart Cat! - an exercise in endurance. How long can you make it through this video?
BONUS
- Zwack - yea, I posted it yesterday but go watch it now if you were putting it off for a more appropriate time (like right now).
- Paper Record Player - really phenomenal project.
- Concept Camera: The WVIL - detachable lens that still works remotely. I can foresee this actually happening as long as the battery recharging process wasn't entirely cumbersome. The proposed UI is rather neat too.
- Nicknames - not a video but look at that illustration. Ridiculous.
Have a great weekend! Tomorrow is
Record Store Day - so don't miss out on any / all festivities going on in your area.

Should I hold on to
Zwack until Friday's videos? Probably. Am I able to wait that long to share new goodness from
Matt and Oz? Absolutely not.
Bret Gelman is a weirdo but in the best way. If you haven't seen him on
Eagleheart yet.. go watch some episodes or marvel at his bizarre
Mr. Celebrity series. But start by watching
Zwack.

I'll admit it, this weeks
playlist is weird.. but that's alright, sometimes you gotta include some oddities.
- Fight for Your Right Revisited - there's a 30 minute short film included with the forthcoming Beastie Boys record that shows what happens after the party depicted in the "Fight For Your Right" video. I've been reading about this for awhile now but it's great to see a legit trailer for it. So many great people involved and even if you're not a Beastie Boys fan, it looks amusing.
- Fruit Gushers Review - I can not explain the appeal of The Food Reviewer but I can admit that it is spellbinding. This kid has tons of various food reviews that mostly consist of him eating and making surprised / pleased faces. It's weird but you can't not enjoy it.
- 2x4 Through My Windshield - even with that title, knowing what will happen, when the event occurs you will jump. Read the description for why she was filming these two trucks. Scary.
- Lemme Smang It - likely one of the more inappropriate videos I've ever posted. It's awkward, NSFW lyrics (sort of) and completely ridiculous. I love it when I can't tell if a video is a parody or not. I mean, what's going on with that guys facial hair in the rap breakdown at 2:00??
- Bicycle Built for Two - videos like this are therapeutic. Mute the sound and just enjoy the sights of an adorable dog riding on the back of a bike.
- 1979 Muppet Movie Camera Test - while there's nothing totally gripping about this or any substantial jokes it's great to see Muppets ad-libbing. Oh, and anything Muppet related that features Sweetums is a-okay in my book.
BONUS
- QR Code Resume - I still don't understand QR Codes but this is too clever not to enjoy and respect.
- Net Husk Virtual Pavilion - I may be a little late to this one (it was posted 4 months ago) but this Dean Fleischer-Camp + Jenny Slate video is perfect. Hilarious, absurd, ridiculous and gripping. The language is sometimes offensive / NSFW if that's a concern for you but, otherwise, it's phenomenal.
Have a great weekend!

No April Fools style pranks in this one.. just a straightforward, typical,
compilation of bizarre videos.
- Skittles Touch: Cat - you've likely seen this already this week but it's rather clever and worthy of sharing. So, if you've seen it, see it again. If not, enjoy.
- Hercules vs Bear - Lou Ferrigno as Hercules launches a bear into space. Need I say more? via Sean.
- Help! I've glued a tiny hat to my head - clip from a BBC show that tells the story of a Halloween costume that won't stop. Pretty silly but amusing. via Paul.
- Julian Assange Nightclub Dancing - do I believe this is actually Julian Assange? It's questionable. Do I choose to embrace the notion for the sake of humor? You better believe it. via Davis.
- Game Deaths - compilation of video game deaths from vintage systems. Not as engaging as I'd like it to be but a nice trip down memory lane.
- Controlled Bark Volume - the fourth bark is gold. Feel good dog video to start your weekend.
BONUS
- Woodkid - Iron - incredibly epic video that I couldn't even begin to explain but I am smitten with the dramatics of it. They went for it and they nailed it.
- FAIL compilation March 2011 - I realize my adoration for these is basically the dregs of Internet humor but I can't stop myself.
Have a great weekend!

Some decent selections
this week.. though I did intentionally omit some
videos just because I assume you have already seen them.
- TLC Promo - sadly, I can totally imagine half of these shows being legit. via Zach.
- The Kelly Family - it's hard to believe this is from 1990. It's also hard to believe that a song about not wetting the bed had such a huge production behind it and was broadcast on TV. That kids voice is the perfect combo of hysterical and vaguely terrifying.
- DEVO Honda Ad - despite being from 1984, the weirdness sustains. via Danny.
- 60 Things in 60 Seconds - a combination of good writing and Matt Berry narration makes for a must see commercial. I love the "Draw a Bath" portion.
- Guilty - which dog got into the cat treats? Can you tell?
- Kristen Schaal Xperia PLAY - this is weird. Real weird.
- Dungeonmaster Trailer - you may not be convinced of it after watching the trailer but I assure you - you need to watch Dungeonmaster. It has seven different directors, features Bull from Night Court as the devil, has a running time of just over 100 minutes and contains more perfectly cheesy 1980's special effects than you could imagine in one film. I'm not saying it's a good movie but I am saying it's an entertaining one. If you're still not convinced, just read the one sentence synopsis on IMDb, if that doesn't get you in.. you're beyond my help.
BONUS
- DFA1979 - apparently now that Death From Above 1979 have somewhat reunited they're posting videos of their practice. The lo-fi style matches their sound quite well.
- Scary Boots - if you can explain what is going on in this video I commend you wholeheartedly.
Have a great weekend!

You know the deal.. check the
playlist, the embed above or the breakdown below. Your choice.
- Adult Swim Bumps via Cyriak - hopefully at this point when I say Cyriakyou go ahead and click through immediately.
- Disappointing Gay Best Friend - there's a short series of these quick jokes that work quite well. Mostly because the gay best friend nails the exhaustion angle perfectly.
- Don't argue with an Ibex - if ever there were a grand archive of Internet Classics, I would hope this would make it into the vault. Yes, we've all seen it by now but its entertainment value hasn't diminished even slightly.
- We're Aight - I'm embarrassed for all involved but mostly for Ja Rule.
- World's Greatest Extra - Jesse Heiman is everywhere.. and, oddly enough, older than I am. He looks 12! I guess its his agelessness that lands him so many roles.
- The Way of Bliss - this is an hour long rant praising the ways of drunkenness to salvation. I don't expect anyone to make it through the whole hour but the best part is that anywhere you jump to in the video something amusing is happening - just due to the blasted out nature of the host. via Paul.
Have a great weekend!

I'm off to
SXSW and likely won't be posting a ton in the next few days. I'll do my best to squeeze in some Friday videos but, hopefully, I'll be mostly offline and enjoying the company of
many many great friends (too many to link really).
I assume I will be updating the ole
Twitter and
Tumblr at various times throughout my departure.. so consider taking a peek at that every so often.

Another busy week with not a ton of time for distractions. That being said, what this weeks
playlist lacks in quantity, it makes up for in quality (I think).
- "Star Trek" Wakeup Call - William Shatner provided the wakeup call for the Discovery astronauts this week with this modified Star Trek intro. It's quite nice.
- Velocipastor Trailer - I don't even want to attempt to explain this.. as it would ruin the video. Just watch it and then hope they start a Kickstarter for a full-length version (not really).
- DALLAS Series Finale - have you ever watched the series finale of Dallas? The legit finale, not the reunion special finale. It will make you feel better about any TV series you've ever watched that you felt ended poorly. Watch for the devil eyes.. eesh.
- Feb. FAIL compilation - Eight and a half minutes of cringe worthy moments that I can't look away from. I think it's safe to admit that my affection for America's Home Video style pain antics will never go away.
BONUS
- COPY - Great motion graphics - insane song.
- One Minute Puberty - incredible animation. It does have some NSFW aspects - considering what is involved in Puberty - but beyond that, incredible piece of work.
Have a great weekend everyone.. be safe.

While I still plan on posting Friday videos and scouring the Internet for distractions as any other day, I think it's important that we all keep an eye on news about the
Japanese earthquake that struck recently. The footage is overwhelming and the magnitude of destruction it has caused is incomprehensible - Hawaii and the US West Coast are under tsunami warnings now. 8.9 on the Richter scale is insane no matter how you look at it.
I don't know if it's just because I'm getting older and paying attention a bit more now but it really seems like the world is going through some pretty chaotic events lately - both geophysically (i.e. earthquakes in New Zealand, Japan, extreme snowstorms, etc. etc.) and politically (Egypt, Libya, Tibet, the whole Middle East, etc. etc.).
Long story short, keep aware.. people are in need.

I can't say for certain what I think of this weeks
playlist but it's comprised of a wide variety of goods.. so that's something!
- TRON: Uprising Trailer - new animated series set in the same Grid as the latest TRON movie but more of a prequel to Flynn's return. Maybe I'm just a sucker for this style but if The Clone Wars is any indication, it's easier / more effective to make something this crazy as a cartoon than it is a live-action film.
- Jeff Goldblum Scats - I think I could leave this on repeat all day and it would never bother me.
- FADADES - I love it when an artist takes themselves so seriously that it's impossible to tell if they're mocking themselves or not. Is this a joke? Is this an honest expression of weird gothic tendencies? What is happening? I'm not sure I really want to know. via Justin.
- Hasan Baba - best Dad dance ever. Closely followed up by these two.
- Literal 5th Wheel - while I am sure there are all kinds of impracticalities and limitations involved with this I'm still surprised it never caught on.
- iPad 2 Review - this is ridiculous but it's so perfectly dry throughout the whole thing that I couldn't help but enjoy it. I doubt you'll watch the entire 7 minutes but pretty much anywhere you scrub to there's a chuckle-worthy gag waiting.
BONUS VIDEOS
Have a great weekend!

It will be impossible to
ever top the greatness of
Baby trashes bar in Las Palmas so if you're looking for the highest in YouTube entertainment, just revisit that. If you're okay with less than that, here is this weeks
playlist.
- Moonshoes - Boogieland - I'm calling it right now - feel good video of the year, right here. I can watch it over and over and it makes the day better every time. via Jamie.
- Pink Armadillo Attack - the Japanese do things I will never understand.. and I never want to. via Chad.
- Skull Trumpet - the entertainment value to length of video ratio here is off the charts. 1 second is all you get but it packs the biggest punch.
- ET Sequel: ET-X - the horror angle is ridiculous but the editing work is phenomenal. Who knew Henry Thomas was in so many other movies that could be used for this purpose?? Ridiculous.
- How Far Away is the Moon? - not exactly hilarious but an amusing bit of education.
- Trading Egg Yolks - Again, the Japanese do things I will never understand.. and I never want to. via Paul.

Have a great weekend!

A good mix of intentionally hilarious, downright bizarre and animal levity in this weeks
playlist. Enjoy. Oh, and many thanks to
Chris Mikesell for a ton of quality linkage to flesh this one out.. much appreciated.
BONUS
That's it! Have a great weekend.

The past week (and prior) have been really intense at work. Non-stop production.. meaning very little time to browse and just
enjoy the Internet. That being said,
these selections (and the bonus videos) are just the right amount of distraction.
BONUS

Work has been absolutely ridiculous this week so I haven't had any real browsing time to stumble upon the funny videos. I haven't even browsed Tumblr in four days! I'm going through withdrawals. Despite all that, I think you'll enjoy this somewhat shortened
playlist.
- Faerie Tale Theatre Montage - "Hello, I'm Shelly Duvall." At first, you think you don't like this.. and then you fall into it's hypnotizing trap. You can't stop watching. So bizarre.
- The Most Illegal Thing In the History of Wrestling - I don't care much for wrestling but when they openly mock their own format. That being said, don't watch more than the first forty seconds of this, there's simply no need.
- Exit Through the Pet Shop - this is mostly dumb, weird and very strange. Combining my enjoyment of Banksy and dumb cat videos this video couldn't help but succeed right off the bat.
- Skittles Fists - This ongoing ad campaign for Skittles featuring the weirdest things ever never seems to get old.
- The Party God - a clip from Adventure Time that combines the voice work of John DiMaggio and a riff on the Courage Wolf. Approved.
That's it! Have a great weekend.

Busy week this week.. but I think I've got some proper gems to start your weekend. Here's the
playlist and your usual breakdown:
- Ben Crane - On Working Out - I imagine the filming of this was about 10x more fun than the watching of it.. but the watching of it is pretty damn hilarious. via Paige.
- "Up" Premake - what if Up was made in the 1960's? This is what it would look like. It's a phenomenal bit of editing to recreate the general gist of the Pixar goodness.. they cover all the bases.
- William Shatner Style Gun Control - this does not end how you think it will end.
- Robot - you've likely seen clips of Enthiran before but this ten minute megamix will convince you it's got to be the best thing ever made. Actually, just watch the first 2 minutes and you'll be convinced. via Lee.
- Cat Jump - I just keep watching it over and over and over and over
- sausage pork beef cheese whole milk butter margarine nuts and - it's an hour long of the same thing. Or is it? Maybe there's something in the middle that changes? Maybe not. There's only one way to find out.. watch the entire thing. I dare you.
BONUS
- At The Dump - nice little three minute piece on a recent Ferris Plock / Suzanne Husky art show done with found materials in the SF dump.
- Marc Maron on Conan - a very amusing interview on Conan with a man I'd not heard of before. I assumed he was a witty author of some sort but turns out he's a comedian with a podcast; which I have yet to find entirely entertaining.
- Pac-Man Fever Live - you know that Buckner and Garcia song "Pac-Man Fever"? It's even better live. via Jamie.
posted January 21, 2011 #
The end to another week is here! For those of you in the snow-y regions of the country.. be safe out there, hunker down with some
videos and stay warm.
- Natalie Portman Extended Laugh - there have been plenty of remixes of Portman's nerdy laugh from the Golden Globes but this one knocks it out of the park with the little treat at the end.
- Giorgio Moroder Metropolis - I had no idea that Moroder wrote his own soundtrack.. I need to find this version of the movie.
- Cutie Patootie - I can't tell what's more disturbing.. the overdubbed audio or the fact that this Tiara Toddler actually did her own version at some point.
- Do Not Text and Walk While Shopping - this one has been making the rounds but I still find it quite amusing. Even more amusing? The woman is suing the mall.. maybe she's got a case but, honestly, just suck up your dignity and move on.
- Dog Sledding - in the most literal sense. Anyone with a canine and enough snow should work towards making this happen for themselves.
- The Big Beginning - in the grand tradition of A Glorious Dawn comes yet another electronic song based on the musings of various physicists. It's not really that great but there's something perfectly awkward about it that makes it entertaining.
- No One Sees You Like Your Dog Does - i hope there's a whole series of these as it is amusing to me. via Paige.
BONUS
- LBJ Buys Pants - 1964 recording of Lyndon Johnson ordering some pants with some very specific instructions. I doubt a President could get away with this nowadays but I'm glad it happened at least the once.
- Smart Car: Against Dumb - great animation.. just love the style and the message ain't half bad either.
- Cave of Forgotten Dreams - trailer for the forthcoming 3D Werner Herzog documentary. Oddly, that's not a joke and it actually looks pretty fascinating.

Slow week but there are some gems in the
playlist.. enjoy.
- Palin's Breath - courtesy of Wreck and Salvage comes a montage of Palin breathing during her latest speech.. it's bizarre.
- Larry Griswold - stick with this.. it's entertaining from start to finish; just deal with the rough quality.
- Weightless Cats - some may find this to be abusive in some way but there's a bit of education to it.. interesting to see how animals react to a wireless environment. Basically, the same way a human would if they had no idea a weightless environment was headed their way.
- Michael Caine does Michael Caine - I posted this on Twitter previously so maybe it's old news to you but I wanted it stored here for proper documentation.. Michael Caine impersonating himself.
- A Brief History of Conspicuous Product Placement in Movies - it's a bit long but it's interesting to see the myriad of examples they've compiled.. particularly from the 1980's onward.
- Heil Honey I'm Home - this is an actual episode of a British sitcom from 1990 that takes the concept of the Honeymooners but replaces the lead characters with Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun. Their neighbors? A Jewish couple. I shouldn't be surprised this existed but I am. via Paul.
I wish I had some sort of palette cleanser for you after that Hitler sitcom but all I've got is
this. Will that suffice? Hope so.
Have a great weekend.

The first batch of videos for 2011.. it's hard to believe I've been compiling these things since
2006 but it's true! With that in mind, you know the deal..
playlist here, breakdown below.
- Happiness Audition - I don't watch these Dance shows but if they consist of material like this in any sort of regular nature, I will start watching them constantly. If first 45 seconds of the video doesn't make you beam with enjoyment; you're beyond my reach.
- Cat morphes into Rabbit - more animals should dress themselves.. especially as other animals.
- Mythbusters: Baby Adam - I had to see this clip of Adam Savage as an adult baby so now you do too. Thank Courtney for the nightmares!
- Plural of Octopus - bit of education for you this week on the proper pluralization of "Octopus." Have you ever met anyone that has used the word Octopodes? Doubtful.
- 100 Additional Movie Insults - over ten minutes of insults.. see if you can actually make your way through it. There are some real gems in there.
- Cats and Dogs Need Your Help - stick with it.. it's not perfect but you should be hooked by the time Mr. Grumpybrowns shows up. Make it through the Chupacabra bit and you get another treat. Via Davis.
BONUS
- Caitlin Rose - "Own Side" - official music video for emerging country favorite Caitlin Rose... featuring the bizarre local wrestling of Stadium Inn here in Nashville. I'm not sure how the song ties into the video but it's enough to keep your attention.
- Destroyer - "Kaputt" - a bizarre video for a song that I'm liking more and more. I assume the album will be a grower as well; in the good way.
Have a great weekend.

After this week I'm going to receive some much deserved offline R&R - hopefully finishing up some freelance projects and diving into some new undertakings that all should benefit from. I may post between now and the New Year but it's unlikely - so let this be the final "Take Care!" of the year between myself and you, the reader. In the meantime, enjoy the years final
playlist and I'll see you on the other side.
- Dancing Santa - you WISH this guy lived near you and you could see this all the time. I know I do. via Zach.
- 2010 Fail Compilation - ten minutes of excruciating failures. Not always an uplifting sentiment but it's hard to look away. There's also a Luck compilation if you're into that.
- Cedar Rapids Trailer - you will undoubtedly see this at the theatre when you go out with your family to catch True Grit or Tron or Tangled or whatever you choose to see but, in case you don't, enjoy the forthcoming funny. via Renaud.
- London Boys vs Autechre - this mash up really doesn't sync very well beyond the first 20 seconds but, man, those first 20 seconds are perfect.
- Laughter Supercut - feel good movie compilation of laughter. Join along.
- How many senses do you have? - QI clip - I've been enjoying a ton of QI lately and suggest during your holiday downtime you find a way to enjoy it as well. It's endlessly informative and incredibly entertaining - what more could you possibly ask for?
- Russian Winter Bungee Jump - while no one gets hurt in this I suggest you take it as a lesson of what not to every involve yourself in.. as it is absolutely insanely terrifying to watch this occur.
BONUS
- AD/BC: A Rock Opera - to me, this Matt Berry Christmas Special must be watched every year. It's completely absurd and hilarious. Thank goodness it's on YouTube in its entirety.
- The Daschel Show: Christmas Special - this probably means very little to anyone that doesn't know Paige and Kevin but it's a feel good Christmas show as hosted by young Daschel. It's always good to see youthful enthusiasm maintained for Christmas time.
Have a great Christmas, a great break (you deserve one) and a Happy New Year. See you all soon.

Hopefully I've got one more Friday Video compilation left for the year and then off to break for a little bit. But that's next week - neither here nor there at the time being - so
enjoy the playlist for now!
- Fried Gnocchi - the laugh this guy gives is perfection. Wait for it...
- Filmography 2010 - probably the best compilation of films from the past year you will see. Also possibly the only compilation you will see because it's an insane amount of work but worth it.. super impressive.
- Bagger 288 - starts out terrible and then explodes into such a bizarre pace that you can't even imagine it. Even having told you that it's going to get wacky, you have no idea what's in store. via Jamie.
- Not You - Not You, Not You, Not You, Not You, Not You.
- Not In Kansas Anymore - compilation of this line being used, over used and completely abused (pardon the terrible rhyme). It is astounding this has been done so often and even more ridiculous that someone was able to compile so many together.
- Bobby Conn - Never Get Ahead - I think this is probably old news to everyone else but this performance by Bobby Conn is legendary - the best / worst lip syncing ever combined with some equally impressive hair and awkward dance moves. Bobby Conn wins.
- Christmas Trololo - while I am pleased to see the Trololo guy get his wish and have his bizarre song spread throughout the world I wish it would be done in a manner not quite as terrifying as this. Innocent enough but nightmare fodder in its own special way. via Zach.
Have a great weekend!
