Young Van Damme

posted September 23, 2009 #

I really should save this for Friday videos but it's far too amusing not to put it out there immediately. The videos of Black Magic Rollercoaster fall a bit on the irreverent side of things but they're that much more hilarious because of it. Young Van Damme is my favorite of their offerings but Freddy Mac and Powder 2: Powder 2 The People need to be seen as well.

Obviously some NSFW language throughout so consider yourself warned..

Seven Friday Videos
Have I really been doing Friday videos for roughly three years? Geez.

Here's the new playlist and details below:
  • Video Dating - this is the thing to see this week. There are so many ridiculous and awesome quotes throughout it's going to take you some time to consume them all. Via Renaud.
  • Barack Obama calls Kanye a Jackass - yes, yes you've heard the audio or seen the video already but I'm including it here for historic purposes and because, well, it's pretty great (though I hate that Kanye meme, not funny Internet.. not funny).
  • Monsters of Megaphone - I was talking about this skit last night and needed to revisit it. Still hilarious.
  • George Brett Auto-Tuned - NSFW. I saw the original the other week and thought it be crass and vaguely entertaining - not great. However, this version cuts in so many strange other clips that I can't help but enjoy it a bit more...
  • Yo' Little Brother - the makeup in this video terrifies me. I mean the song is unbearable but the makeup takes it into a new realm of discomfort.
  • Ghost Keyboard Cat - RIP Keyboard Cat.
  • Absurd Fat Chicken - no clue what's going on here but I'm pretty sure I like it.
Have a great weekend.

Seven Friday Videos
The Goods and the breakdown below:
  • Jonas Bros Death Metal - I know next to nothing of the Jonas Bros but this is a ridiculously well done metal version.
  • Don't Copy That Floppy 2 - the Official sequel. I honestly believe this is not a fan creation but an honest sequel to the 1992 original. Somehow they managed to nail the super corny vibe but still updating it to something sort of contemporary.
  • Google Maps In Japan - absolutely perfect animation explaining Google Maps. The characters and style are great!
  • A Boy and His Blob - new Wii / DS updated version of the late 80's classic.
  • My Dog Is a Jedi - the intensity of the music mixed with the absurdity of the video is perfection. See more here.
  • How to Kiss a Woman by Capt Kirk - not that such a thing is at all funny but given the context I didn't see it coming at all.
  • Creepy Weird Yoga Teacher - this was sent in last week and posted in the comments so it's possibly old news at this point but the compilation of clips here is just surreal.
Bonus!
This video is absurd, nonsensical and entirely enjoyable. Thank you Davis.

Have a great weekend.

Eight Friday Videos
You know the deal. Here's the playlist or watch above.
  • Turtle Dog - I hope this goes on infinitely but I know it doesn't.
  • Pizza La CM - just once I'd love to see a commercial like this in the US.
  • TR2N with Birdy Nam Nam - you've likely already seen this teaser already but someone re-cut it with that Birdy Nam Nam song and it blew my mind how well it all worked.
  • Inappropriate Kid's Slide - aside from the slide being hysterical I found myself watching the entire thing just so I could hear the Queen song done in fart style.
  • Hitler Finds out His Subtitles Are Wrong - it's nerdily meta but it's actually hilarious. This will be the last time I post one of these, as it says it all.
  • Film Forum with Beavis and Butthead - the duo returns to promote Mike Judge's new film Extract (out today). It's a shame that Judge has to resort to reviving these two to properly promote a movie that I am sure is hilarious on its own but as long as he gets some recognition it's probably all worth it.
  • How Can I Tell If I'm Really In Love? - wait for Ted Danson.
  • Star Trek Mistakes (3/5) - there is no way I'm going to watch this entire thing but I love that it exists. Think of the amount of toiling over footage to come up with this! Insane. While I did not see it all, I enjoy that it exists.
Have a great weekend!

Watch the Playlist
  • Auto-Tune The Cats - I should not love this but I do, so so so much.
  • 100 Years of Special Effects - they focus way too much on contemporary special effects and the song is pretty awful but I love the vintage stuff. Must explore more along that tangeant.
  • Hitler Plans Burning Man - this footage has been repurposed with so many captions it may not be as amusing to you anymore but I believe when it's done right, it's hilarious.
  • Van Hammersly - this skit never gets old to me. I often watch it on repeat.
  • Super Plumber - taken from a horrible horror movie in which the fridge eats the residence of the apartment. The Super Plumber steps in.. and well.. it's just weird. Weird weird weird.
  • The Wafflemaker - same movie, even weirder but in a more pleasant way.
Bonus Have a great weekend.

Seven Friday Videos
For one reason or another this weeks videos are fairly heavily leaning on the weird side of things. There's some classic Internet funny in there but be prepared to be confused sometimes too.

Watch the Playlist

  • The Features - Lions - I've sung the praises of this band before and it seems like they're getting some good promotion for their latest album Some Kind of Salvation. I can't say that I get the music video but I like that it exists and it is a fantastic song.
  • Mortal Kombat Music Video - If digital cameras and youtube had existed when I was this kids age I would totally have done this.
  • Different than Before - as a followup to the above video our "NintendoGuy" updates up on his life status. Sadly, I feel this kid is going down the wrong path with this whole weight lifting on the couch. I'm amused by it but I'd prefer him embrace his love of terrible techno and movies inspired by videogames.
  • You Tell Me - I've no idea what's going on here but it's uncomfortable for so many reasons.
  • Hastily Made Cleveland Tourism Video: 2nd Attempt - nailed it. Hilarious.
  • High Definition Whinefeld - I wish I could attempt to explain what is happening here but I will tell you this - the more you watch it, the more intriguing it becomes. I also suggest doing a youtube search for Whinefeld and just follow the weird path that reveals itself.
  • So Your Cat Wants A Massage?- yes, it's 3 minutes long but the gems keep coming.
BONUS
Rejected Fatal Farm Shorts - Fatal Farm made a bunch of bumpers for the MTV Movie Awards - most were rejected.. here are four of them that didn't make the cut. So awesome.

Have a great weekend.

View The Playlist
  • Full House Alternate Intro - how great would it be if they started the last episode off with this?
  • Longest Crash Ever - honestly, it could be longer but at 40 seconds, it's just right.
  • Couch Airbag Explosion - pretty juvenile but amusing in that Jackass kind of way. Some language here so be forewarned.
  • Peanut Butter Man - I don't want to know the story behind this but it was way way too weird not to share. I don't want to be the only person haunted by that imagery. Via Casey.
  • Palm Pre CM (Traumatizing Edition) - these commercials weird me out and now someone has made it somehow feel more appropriate by making it terrifying.
  • Rob Huevel on "Follow Friday" - not the funniest bit overall but Rob Huebel is one of those people that's just amusing in his mannerisms.
  • Retrobites: Keanu Reeves - to me, this is like Ted Theodore Logan grew up and became a journalist. It's pretty much perfect.

Six Friday Videos
Still out of pocket but for some reason I feel compelled to keep the Friday Videos going. Watch the playlist or the videos below individually:
  • Lazer Ghosts 2: Return to Laser Cove - an absolutely terrible 9 minute "trailer" that is, in actuality, the entire movie. It's insanely terrible but still manages to be oddly entertaining. Via Chris Mikesell, who else?
  • Ben Konop Heckled - as you watch the first part of this try to imagine what the heckler looks like. Then jump 1:24 in and see just how close you were.
  • Hurley's New Chicken Shack - more LOST off-season marketing that's pretty dumb but contains Hugo dreaming of chicken, sort of undeniable.
  • Alice - song greated entirely from sounds recorded from "Alice in Wonderland" - and it's pretty dang awesome. Via Revgoomba.
  • Gangsta Scared Of A Bug - I love how genuinely freaked out this guy is for the duration.
  • Islands in the Stream - nothing tongue-in-cheek here.. just hadn't heard this song in a long time and had forgotten how great it is. Enjoy.
Have a good weekend.

I recommend watching the Old Jews Telling Jokes if this weeks playlist doesn't fulfill you. Bonus
  • Cat In A Bath - awesomely epic video of a cat getting a bath.
  • Serious WTF - Probably NSFW but this is just baffling. Turns out it is a real commercial but it's hard to imagine seeing such a thing on TV.
Have a great weekend.

You know the drill. Here's the playlist and the breakdown to follow... I also suggest watching this new U2 video that was directed by David O'Reilly - the song is terrible but his animation style is such a treat to watch. I would recommend muting the video and playing some 4:10 instrumental electronic song of your choosing.

Have a great weekend!

"Four" Friday Videos
Loads of work this week so unfortunately the playlist suffers. However, one of the videos is actually three seperate clips and there's a bonus video below.. so I'd say we're operating at average capacity. Aaaaand - If Spammers Wrote Cialis Ads - absurd.

Have a great weekend.

A mish mash of goods this week. Enjoy the playlist or the individual videos below:
  • Sour - I was all kinds of skeptical about this music video and then I actually watched it and I understood the appeal. Even if it's just some clever trickery, it's well done.
  • 2012 Trailer Recut - as a 70's disaster-spolitation film.
  • Squirmy Sax - Blockhead + Awkward Lost Boys Scene = High Doses of Entertainment
  • Train vs Tornado - skip in to 1:00 and watch the crazines go down.
  • WK Interact - nice little piece on WK Interact.. one of my all time favorite street artists.
  • District 9 Trailer 2 - still loving the look of this District 9 movie; even though it's starting to shape up as more of a small time action flick than a larger alien / political drama (which would tank at the box office but be super interesting).
And if you haven't caught Niagara Falls in Motion, treat yourself.

Have a great weekend and be sure to keep up with the Summer Mix Series.

Short and sweet this week folks as I have things to do before enjoying this Independence Day weekend. Enjoy the playlist..
  • Mind Maze - part of a Nike marketing campaign called Get Your Basketball On the features Charlie Murphy being pretty much entirely ridiculous. Be sure to watch the rest when you have a moment.
  • Dog Bites Man - skip to 1:25 for the goods.
  • A vs B - fast food marketing has really started to scrap the bottom of the barrel lately don't ya think?
  • Transformers 2: Exclusive Clip - so good, so accurate.
  • Turbo Heather - the absurdity of this is perfectly appealing.
  • Betty Boop MD - while you may be familiar with the character, you may not have ever actually watched a Betty Boop cartoon. Do yourself a favor and witness the craziness contained within. The end joke is terrifying.
Enjoy your weekend!

Seven Friday Videos
Lots of gems in here this week. Enjoy the playlist - and please take note that some of the videos embedding is disabled so please watch the playlist via YouTube or you aren't getting the full bounty.
  • Giant White Glove - Obviously the death of Michael Jackson is a big deal. His fall from grace over the past 20 years won't be forgotten but it is worth remembering that he created one of the biggest and most popular albums, ever. Worldwide. Not a feat you could even dream of recreating these days. More info on this video found here.
  • Ghetto Man Roasts The Superfriends - live action 70's talk show featuring the Superfriends and Ed McMahan as the host. It's really just a vehicle for a stand up comic but I have a hard time imaging this on TV today - but I wish something like it was.
  • Passing Stones - **** Me Up - I've never enjoyed the Rolling Stones more than in this video. Embedding disabled on this - PLEASE watch.
  • Predator Re-Dub - watch this immediately before it's nabbed down off YouTube. It's incredibly perfect. More disabled embedding...
  • The Greatest Freakout - I have a hard time believing this is real but, then again, I'm not a tween with a canceled World of Warcraft account, so maybe this is normal these days.
  • Bollywood He-Man - I dare you to watch the whole thing. I bet you can't. I couldn't endure more than a minute.
  • Extreme Ghostbusters - The Hand that Feeds - who would think that the Ghostbusters cartoon mixed with Nine Inch Nails would work so perfectly together? And by perfectly I mean - I can't really even tell it's two songs mashed together.
That's it! Have a great weekend.

Nine Friday Videos
Some weeks are better than others when it comes to Friday Videos and I feel like this week was a plethora of goodness. Thanks to Davis, Zach, Matt and whomever else sent them my way. Watch the whole playlist or individually below.
  • Smash Mash Potatoes Advert - Japan gets all the credit for having the weird commercials but I think the UK isn't getting enough credit. Granted, this is from the 70's but whoever thought to have these robotic aliens be the spokesperson for Smash Mash Potatoes needs to be recognized. Be sure to watch them all and know that you're in good company.
  • Mr. Freeze - I don't think this needs much explanation as to why it is so amusing.
  • DEADLINE - Post-It Stop Motion animation that needs to be seen.. absolutely impressive.
  • Comfort Wipe Commercial - The list of things that make this commercial so mind-blowing could go on for days but be sure to keep an eye out for the grimacing "reach face". I would love it if they made a variation shaped like an actual arm.
  • Drunk Fall - yes you feel a little bad for this guy but the fall is too perfect not to appreciate on the most base level.
  • Roller Coaster Brain Rush - much like a regular roller coaster the build-up to this takes a minute.. so stick with it. His reaction is well worth it.
  • Insurance Commercial - did this man even know the plan of what was going to be green screened behind him? I'm guessing no.
  • Shep Smith mocks Glenn Beck Friday - this guy sorta creeps me out but I give him credit for not being the biggest sleaze ball on FOX and for giving a good bit of ribbing where ribbing is due.
  • Kitten Hiding - one of the best 20 seconds of Internet video to date.
Have a great weekend.

Four YouTube Friday Videos
Two problems this week. 1) I have a ton of work to do and, thus, no time to troll for amusing videos. 2) The worthwhile videos I'm finding, more and more, are not on YouTube and thus not embeddable in that fancy playlist player. Someone needs to make a Flash widget that will import videos from all kinds of sites. Consider that an official request.

Here's the playlist: Bonus Videos (aka videos I can't embed all in one player but still deserve to be watched)
  • Scenes From A Rooftop - nother one of those tilt shifted videos.. still impresses me.
  • Aqua Teen Hunger Force Finale - I don't really ever watch this show but I completely appreciate that they went live action for the last episode.
  • Russel Brand in NYC - granted this could be embedded above but it's four parts and I don't think of it as a quick clip to watch. If you need a taste, watch Part 3.. very funny. Via Madrid.

Five Friday Videos
There's no way I could top this guy from last week. It's just not possible. That may very well be the best Internet video. Period.

Here we go with this week...
  • Jimmy Kimmel Rant - he really goes off about the TV industry and it is quite entertaining. The second half of the video is a bit more tame but the first half is golden. Some NSFW language.
  • Obama Inauguration UFO - did you know there are loads of YouTube videos showing UFO's at various Obama functions? It's insane and completely entertaining.
  • Kodi Falls into pool - it's rare to see a dog trip like this.
  • Slow Motion Sneezing - a very long build up but when the actual sneeze hits it's absolutely disgusting.
  • Weirdest Game Ever - seriously, what is happening here???
Oh, and if you didn't catch Autotune the News #3 at some point this week, do so now.
