Hey ladies, go get your kitschy bra and panties over at
Righty Tighty Lefty Lucy. The Nipple Bra, Deep Sea Divin, and Granny Panties are among some of the excellent goods you can find there.

Woah, check out the

Sometimes at
work we work on projects seperately- or maybe tag team here and there. But it's always great when we all come together and get to work on something.
Daniel,
Eric,
Arlo,
Kurt, and myself banged out the site for the new
Florida Citrus Bowls and I'm really proud of it. Dynamic Flash content, great textured feel, comical sport geek flavor for the hardcore football guys, nd just an overall nice feel. Honestly I'm not trying to brag.. I'm just really proud of it.

I wish I was 25% as creative, productive, and inspiring as
NinjaCruise. His new site is chalk full of fine works and leaves lots of room for more. I could list something about each one that I really liked... I know this all sounds a bit kiss-ass, but I'm always really pleased to see work from someone I consider a friend that is so intriguing to view. A very nice range of styles and techniques.

I have my doubts that this is real (the colors are waaay too saturated) but this
Dolphin massacre is pretty much the craziest thing you'll see today. If this upsets or disgusts you, talk to
Arlo, he sent it to me.

You may have noticed that things have slowed down a bit at yewknee.com the past few days (maybe even weeks), and I suppose it's time I share the reason why. As sad as it is, I just don't have time for the site right now. Finding time to browse for interesting sites (or news, or whatever) is next to impossible when you're working a full-time
job, finishing up some
projects, and remodeling a
house.
Yea, that's right.. I'm a fancy adult homeowner now. The opportunity presented itself to save myself alot of money by borrowing alot of money - so I took it. The house will be an incredible place to live once many months of hard work have been put into it, but that means I have to put in the many months of hard work. And seeing that this is the last week in October I gotta get out of my current apartment by the 31st (or possibly the 2nd.. depending on how I'm feeling).
I try not to share too many personal items here but it's probably only fair to let you know that it's going to be
real slow here for the next few weeks while I get my act together and settle into the new place. Browse the
house site to see the kind of work I'm having to put into it and maybe you'll understand (I'll still be updating daily at the
Beard Contest.. somehow I force myself to find time for that).
Thanks for understanding.

MIT students have developed an
interesting solution to peer-to-peer file swapping. A pair of students developed a system where a user logs into a site, gains control of a localized cable station, and pumps music to their room via their TV - making the transmission analog, not digital. Pretty ingenious but it appears that it's setup to listen to one CD at a time - isn't one of the main points of the file swapping debacle that people are just downloading single songs and that albums are dying a slow death?

In preparation for my upcoming move I'm trying to clean out the ole Inbox. So here come a massive bunch of links from the mailbag:
-
DBLOC - clothing company with a crazy amount of "random film grain" stuff going on with the site. Kind of out of hand actually but there are some hot text treatments on the shirts..
-
The 900 Club - profiles of the world's most overweight people.. sad, incredible, and bizarre all at once.
-
Why The Future Doesn't Need Us - Wired article about the downfall of man through it's own invention.
Doom and Gloom - supposed Biblical interpretations about the 101 Propechies leading up to the final days of the world as we know it.. maybe it actually text was cited it'd be a different story, but the explanations of what a certain passage is saying pretty much negates any validity it could have possibly had in the first place. One thing about the end of the world that everyone should realize is
this.. every day is closer to the last day.. just like your own life, you're never getting any younger. It's not really a scary topic. So to say that there are impending signs of the end is beyond obvious. Just don't start boarding off windows and getting interviewed by the local news of "I ain't afraid of no rapture!!"
-Ticketmaster reminds me (and you) not to miss
Death Cab for Cutie and
Mates of State. And a heads up that
A Perfect Circle is playing later in the month (with The Icarus Line I believe).
-
Shirt Ninja Help - simple instructions on how to be your own shirt ninja. Kind of a classic link, but even better is that if you search google for "tshirt ninja" you get
this guy.
I just watched
We Fail again and it still blows my mind. The art direction is unique, the storyline is nuts, the music is a great counterpoint, and the animation is fluid yet amazingly bizarre.

I take back what I said about
coolfer.. it's completely legible / readable now. I dunno if changes were made or if my browser just started behaving or what.. but it's much more pleasant now. Be sure to check out the list of "Free and Legal" spots on the web to get your mp3 on. Lots of great links.

I knew
Asterik Studio was working on some posters but I had forgotten to find a way to view them. Thanks to
GigPosters ( and a handy link from Demetre), I finally checked them out
here. The Spiritualized, Tooth & Nail Showcase, and Stretch Armstrong ones are probably my favorites. The subtle breaking of whitespace on the Damien Jurado poster is definetly something to recognize.. so nice. The best part about them? They're all quality.

Does anyone else feel that the text on
coolfer has become completely impossible to read? Maybe it's the font smoothing option on this machine, but the combination of gross looking text and too-tight letterspacing is killing me because I typically really enjoy reading the site.

Madrid launches the new site for photographer
Tony Baker. The final section that shows the journal style of his past works is really nice, but all of his photo's are well excellent. Nice navigation for the site, even if it is a little enigmatic at times.
