Chris Gaines: The Podcast there was never any inclination that it would be a show that went on forever. Garth Brooks fictional character Chris Gaines really only existed in the cultural zeitgeist for a
blip of time. While Brooks and his team may have been working on it for years, from the public's standpoint it really came and went in about 10 months time. It's that brevity that makes the whole thing so fascinating as it continues to persevere some twenty years later.
Including this episode, Ashley and I have talked on the topic of Chris Gaines for a little over six hours. Is there more to say? Yes, absolutely. Could we work to get some interviews and find out a bit more behind-the-scenes? Yes, maybe! That assumes anyone involved would want to talk about it (they don't). Will we return for a Season 2 that looks at some additional absurdities? Oh yea, we just might.
