Q. "How many UX Designers does it take to screw in a lightbulb?"
A. "First we need to be sure that a lightbulb is the correct solution, so I suggest a research project to understand the role of light in society."

Could Venus razors (P&G) open reduced cost clinics that double as safe places for female-identifying to shower, use lockers, get products, register to vote? Would the affinity we feel towards these brands improve? Yes, yes it would. 10/

In the year 2001, me and my friend Scott made a song
18 years later, it is an honor and privilege to present:
“DMX Goes to the Zoo” https://t.co/TgH1foYE4Q

@KAWhittlesey It requires a bit of context. You see, it’s what we imagine it sounds like when DMX goes to the zoo

Happy Friday! If you're in the general Nashville area this weekend, please come by
Grimeys on Saturday at 5pm to see
Patrick Damphier play songs off of
Say I'm Pretty and
then come by
The Basement during the evening hours to see
The Mute Group play selections from
Sinister Hand. It's a mini
yk Records weekend, get into it!
If you're not in the Nashville area, just go listen to those two records. Please and thank you.
- The Mute Group - "Wuthering Heights" (Kate Bush) - in promotion for the show (And celebration of hitting 3,000 views on another one of their videos), The Mute Group posted this cover of a Kate Bush song. Pretty much perfect.
- Kate Bush - "Wuthering Heights" - have you heard the original version of that song? Bush's vocals are so bizarre but also entrancing. Her dance moves are pretty stellar too.
- Vicky reps Dusen Dusen - John Early has been in a lot of sketches and I randomly encounter a new one that I've never seen. A real treat.
- Beatle Barkers - We Can Work It Out - on paper, I should find this unbearable but, honestly, I kind of love it and have listened to it more than I'd like to admit.
- MarbleLympics 2019 E3 - a combination of Shuffleboard and ASMR; marbles simply rolling down a path. At first I thought this was a fun joke video but, turns out, there's a ton of them and it's no joke. It's delightful.
- Aldous Harding - The Barrel - this video is a slow burn but worth your investment. Take 5 full minutes of your day and just enjoy the entire thing. Great song with a perfect video
- One Star Reviews - new VICE series where the host visits one star reviewed spots on Yelp and finds out how horrible they actually are. This one is for a haircut but the plastic surgeon episode is nuts.
- dragon.gif - this 20 seconds embodies the Internet. It's delightful, it's weird, it's fun and then, for half a second, it's questionably idiotic.

Judging by the new song I just heard, the next @LilBanditMusic album will likely change lives. So damn good. Somebody give this guy all your money!

What's happening in this country is incredibly fucked. I suffer over it daily. The Alabama ban is just the latest, but it's part of a terrifying long-term goal to shift the Supreme Court, which matters and is long lasting. I'm angry. Breathe and do as much as you can. https://t.co/TOvYHlHPUy

The title 'scrum master' always makes me picture a curly mustache, one of those jeweler's one-eye magnifying tube thingies, maybe a jaunty leather waistcoat and a wagon.

When I stumbled across
Bandsplainer last year I was really smitten with it. What's not to love about a show that picks a cult band and explains their history and influence; told through the lens of host
Olivia Ladd and a relevant guests insights? The
season one finale tackles the legacy of
Bikini Kill with insight from
Beth Cameron.
I've known Beth since high school. That gives us a solid 20+ years of friendship. I saw, firsthand, how the music of Bikini Kill and other Riot Grrrl acts impacted her. Her insight on the influence of that movement is really fascinating and becomes even more potent when paired with Olivia Ladd's take; having come to the band a solid decade after Beth did.
Bikini Kill's message was one of unapologetic feminism and holds true today. It's unfortunate that the battles the band was fighting in the mid-90's are every bit as prevalent today but at least there are multiple generations working towards the right goals now.

This was such a fun episode to put together. I adore @jshawhan and the conversation we had. He also recently used “Startrekcellent” in exchange and I think maybe he is my hero for doing so. https://t.co/BGEaocaA51
