I have a few new projects coming out soon and I just interviewed the incomparable @hellolanemoore for one of them and she’s just the very, very best. I’m grateful to her for her time, and How To Be Alone is one of the best books written in the past 10 years.
Seth Pomeroy is a local writer, comedian and generally funny person. He's also The Most Injured Man In America, valued at roughly $2.7 million dollars for all of the injury lawsuits he's been involved in.
The best part is that these are actual commercials, not just an absurd sketch.
Twenty years ago, the film Home Page was released; a documentary that followed 21-year old blogger and "cyber superstar" Justin Hall through his history of personal expression, his transient lifestyle and his experiences as a developer. If you've heard of links.net, you've heard of Justin Hall. I haven't watched the full film yet but it certainly seems to be a proper late 90's time capsule coupled with a fascinatingly unique subject.
More about the film, and it's re-release, can be found here. You can also read Hall's insights on the film here or watch his 2015 film on his own trials and tribulations as an oversharing blogger here.
@yewknee I’ve been watching Billions and while you are handsomer and much skinnier tha Paul Giamatti, his look of disapproval in his face matches yours, it’s amazing and uncanny
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you a character I’ve been working on for the last couple of years...THE MOST INJURED MAN IN AMERICA #actor #setlife #mywifeamy https://t.co/KL56nOaMwj
Look at that regal cat in that hat! What more do you need to slide on in to the weekend and give yourself a much needed break? From whenever you see this until Monday morning, treat yourself like royalty. Thanks.
GoT Reaction Videos - I don't watch Game of Thrones (nothing against it, just haven't done it) but I think I'm going to start watching these reaction videos for the remainder of the final season. This contains spoilers (obviously) but I don't mind if it means I can see a huge crowd simultaneously lose their minds.
Every "Hot Ones" Ever - a loving sendup of the bizarrely predictable hot sauce show.
Hellraiser 'Watch and Wear' Commercial - this one is oddly long but jump 1:35 in and partake in this bizarre technique for selling t-shirts and thermos.
The Cure, Rock n Roll Hall of Fame - The Cure was recently inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. The Trent Reznor intro is solid but the actual performance is great. Robert Smith looks a bit worse for wear but his voice is every bit as good as it was 30 years ago.
Heads up! The Jasmin Kaset collaborative album with Quichenight, Tuxedo, is still kicking out videos! The latest (and likely the last) is the for "Slow Motion Lover." As you may assume from the title, it's a bit more of a sombre number than some of the other tracks but it's an excellent companion to a slow weekend. The 8mm style video is simple but fun. Give it a watch!
Last year, singer Dolores O'Riordan of @The_Cranberries passed away. In our new episode, guitarist and co-songwriter Noel Hogan explains how the two of them started the song “All Over Now"—and how hard it was for the band to finish it without her. https://t.co/rZvlLrVJYa https://t.co/ZSmoSGKng3
