Really enjoying an exhaustive browse through the portfolio of LA's Radical Co-operative. It's a lot of creative identity projects spanning the likes of Big Softee ice cream, Bar Norman wine bar and Burgerlord. Obviously lots of food projects there but all with a nice diversity among them.
.@patrickdamphier's video for “Pretend It” showcases a jangly beauty that reflects with chiming guitars and
tender harmonic nuances. WATCH:

Every song has a vibrant ecosystem of synth textures, percussion, voices and subtle beds of guitar feedback - but never at the behest of the melodies they serve. It’s a sensibility that merges Fleetwood Mac with My Bloody Valentine. That it has so much going on yet maintains is subtlety is no small feat.
The video is a rather clever undertaking directed by Joshua Shoemaker that actually plays off of the reversibility of VHS, not only leaning on it as a visual aesthetic.
New THICK AS THIEVES episode looks at some more recent art heists and notices a strange pattern with crucifixion paintings. Also, learn the story of Dali's "Blob of Thorns" painting; one for the ages.

1/9. Ok. 65UPDATE. A Thread.
After our last record, the @NoMansSky soundtrack in 2016, we tried a lot of different things.
Cos once we'd made an infinitely long soundtrack going back to just the old way of putting out music didn't seem like enough.
So...
my roommate held a little earth day competition in our group chat to see who could find the best piece of trash then she won because she found a backpack with a GUN in it, I am screaming
GAME: Is it a Nashville restaurant or just some words? This is brilliant and I wish I knew who to give credit to. "Portside & Loaf" is my personal favorite. @NashvilleScene @dpatrickrodgers @scavendish " https://t.co/sfVzbf8xXP
This short film on the SNL Film Unit is bonkers impressive. If you're not aware, SNL has multiple directors and crews that shoot the weekly digital shorts. The amount of work involved to write, scout locations, build sets, shoot, edit, color correct and air these things is mind boggling. Watch the behind-the-scenes piece and you'll assuredly agree.
I grew up as a Boy Scout. I joined a Troop, earned a bunch of merit badges and my parents were smart enough to make me stick with it and earn Eagle Scout. One of the most fun parts of the experience was going to Scout Camp, over on Boxwell Reservation.
My brother worked there, eventually making his way up in the ranks just about as high as you could go. He's been working on an oral history of the camp for the last... ten years? Compiling interviews, doing deep dive microfiche research and forming the story of the destination.
Here's where you come in. He's got loads and loads of audio interviews that need to be transcribed so that they can be easily searchable and quotable. Turns out, automated transcription services are somewhat inaccurate and personal transcriptions (people listening and typing it out) is expensive. He's posted a Go Fund Me to help raise the money to convert these audio files into proper text.
As the little brother, I tried to do some due diligence and assist with automated transcription via Google's Speech-To-Text or even YouTube's automated transcriptions, they just aren't as accurate. Maybe they'll work as a fallback but the desired solution here is paying folks to write it down.
TLDR: My brother has a project that could use $10 or so of your dollars. I've been running this blog for over a decade and rarely ask for much.. so can you throw some ducats his way?
