Imagine you are dead but get to design your own funeral.
What songs will be played?
Who will deliver your eulogy?
Where will your remains rest?
These are the questions on our brand new show, My Fantasy Funeral.
From @honeyboyhey. Coming Soon.

When I first shifted We Own This Town to become a podcast network I wasn't sure what kind of shows would emerge but I was open to just about anything. Ryan Breegle approached me with an idea for a limited edition show about Gore Vidal that became Vidalotry. After that had run its course, I wondered what Ryan would come up with next...
He pitched me My Fantasy Funeral, an interview show that asks its guests to design their own funeral. Here's the elevator pitch:
Imagine you are dead but you get to design your own funeral. What songs will be played? Who will deliver your eulogy? And where will your remains rest, forever more?
What we think about death, says a lot about the way we live our lives now.
The first episode will debut next week and we've got a little teaser up now. You'll find the show on Spotify, Google, YouTube, etc. I've heard the first few episodes and it's a wonderfully fascinating listen.
I'll post updates here about the show as episodes post.

March 10th, 2009 marked the first release from my lil label yk Records. I'm not shocked I've been at it for ten years but I am continually flattered to have been involved with so many great artists. If you've never taken a dive into the catalog, here's a massive Spotify playlist of all the things:
If you're not interested in an uncurated repository of excellent sounds, I do keep a running sampler on Soundcloud but it's, by no means, an exhaustive or proper reflection of the label as a whole.
I've got a few things brewing for 2019 and feel like I'm finally getting into a groove of how best to release things effectively. It took a decade but I think things are better than ever. I hope you're into it and I hope you are as excited for future releases as I am.
As luck would have it, DM Stith released his debut album, Heavy Ghost, ten years ago yesterday - March 10, 2009. I wrote about it in April of that year, calling it "a dense piece of work that should be experienced in its entirety." I stand by that.
Ten years later, I've managed to become friends with David and have even released some music with him on yk records. I don't know how that happened but I'm glad it did.
In celebration of his artistic anniversary, we relaunched his website and put together a Heavy Ghost Meditation Playlist - twelve videos cut to old footage that may or may not have a narrative to it. You're just meant to watch it and take it all in; forming your own opinions about what you see. It's a nice way to re-experience the album, start to finish.
yk Records is Ten years old today. Thanks to @UncleSkelly and every other artist that has worked with me. It's continually flattering to say the least. Thank you all. https://t.co/UTCQQEPLwX
