Very happy to announce that You Drive has released the official video for "Home In My Love," directed by Joey Ciccoline. The video premiered over on Earmilk and explains the subtle nod that the video takes towards New Order's "The Perfect Kiss" video.
I'm extremely pleased with how the video turned out; it's really starkly beautiful. Fitting for the song. Also, I have a very small cameo near the end, eating one of my favorite sandwiches.
A few weeks back, my job asked if I'd be interested in going to India to meet some new co-workers that would be joining our development team. After a moment of hestitation, it seemed absurd not to take advantage of the offer.
So, I'm currently in Bangalore, meeting new co-workers and seeing what the "Silicon Valley of India" has to offer.
Posts will, obviously, be light during my time in a country where the timezone is completely shifted but I'm sure I'll sneak in a Twitter fave now and again.
i think the pretty simple answer to why young people don’t pay more attention to politics is that the median senator is 64 and our preferences have literally never been reflected in any policy outcome ever https://t.co/IFv3lUYvLF
New work from me: "Tunnel Vision" is a print series inspired by my love of 70s sci-fi poster design. These two signed/numbered prints, limited to 25 pieces each, are available now in my store: https://t.co/GPlt1eNzDk https://t.co/FgTI6UnwLY
You ever have those weeks where you feel overwhelmed by tasks at work and your personal inbox suffers for it and you can't even post once or twice to your blog because you've just got too much to do? Yea, me too.
But all First World Complaints aside, things are good in Eades World. Lots of projects unfurling and it feels good. Enjoy some distractions.
September 21st - hey, it's the 21st of September! 2018 version!
The Dining Nun - I saw a lot of this at DragonCon and it absolutely never gets old.
John Grant - He's Got His Mother's Hips - openly inspired by "Sledgehammer", this John Grant video is unbelievably impressive for the variety of styles and the way they actually pull them all off.
Dying - this is probably 2 minutes too long but it's funny pretty much all the way through, especially when considering how it had to be shot and edited. Impressive.
Joe Diffie - Third Rock from The Sun - we had friends over recently for a house hang that evolved into a YouTube deep dive of absurd country music videos. This Joe Diffie ditty was a highlight, not because the song is particularly memorable but just because.
Friend of the blog Casey Pugh has been working on a number of projects over at Vimeo for the past year that largely involve new technology and how Vimeo video can interact with them. One such fruit of his labors is this hefty tutorial on Tiny Planets - aka taking a 360 video and morphing it into an orb. The resulting video is beautiful.
But I'm kind of burying the lede here. The music set to this wonderful experiment is by none other than yk Records own Uncle Skeleton, the track "Cocoa Nibs" to be specific. So, double whammy! Casey makes a wonderful tool for creating captivating tiny worlds and Uncle Skeleton gets a free music video. Win Win.
