Fact, before sleep most nights I cruise around imgur and fill my head with delightful nonsense. It helps break up the bad news of the day. You stumble upon gems like
this guy or
this guy. It works. Try it out.
I haven't dug in yet but this episode of
First We Feast with David Cross torturing himself with Hot Wings looks fairly promising.
Oh, and if you're looking to tickle your nostalgia bone, dive deep into the
Nintendo Power magazine archives. You'll never forget that creepy claymation cover of issue 1.

Reality TV idea: We build a fake White House and put Trump in it and tell him he's president. Film the whole thing.

This
music video was created using "
Tachyons+ gear and a Edirol V4" - devices that I don't know a hell of a lot about but have always appreciated their aesthetic. It's a load of gear that manipulates an analog signal and results in glitched out, static-y goodness, almost every single time. This music video for ROCOCOCO's "Versailles" is a fine example.

Tomorrow, August 5th, marks the 50th anniversary of The Beatles
Revolver. For whatever reason, this particular album (and
Rubber Soul) always struck a chord with me. I always think of them as a couplet and, for me, they act as the bridge between the first era of Beatles and the second, more experimental, era.
There's
no shortage of reading when it comes to Beatles stuff but the
Wikipedia entry is actually surprisingly compelling. I had no idea that the cover art was 1) Drawn from memory and 2) won a Grammy for
Best Album Cover.
I suppose a post about The Beatles isn't all that compelling but it's just here as a reminder to dive back into one of the band's finest pieces of work.

If I told you there was a podcast that combined elements of
Serial and
The X-Files, would you be interested? Maybe this is old news but I've been gorging my ears on
The Black Tapes, an ongoing investigation of mysterious events, the paranormal and general Unexplained Phenomena.
I'm three episodes in and can see myself shutting myself up in a room this weekend to catch up on the rest. via

I'm scrounging around the world of
Michael Schillingburg and it couldn't be more delightful. His
Tumblr is filled with great bits of inspiration, adorable illustrations and plenty of donuts. He's also got some games up
on itch and a great development blog going for the
forthcoming game Caffeine.
But maybe I'm burying the lede. He also made
Obliterate Me, where you can draw all over Trump's face.

I am a sucker for a miniature and for well made terrariums.
So, the
Micro Matter project from
Rosa de Jong is right up my alley. The rest of her portfolio is impressive and enjoyable as well but Micro Matter really gets me. Follow along with progress over on
