Looks like @KenBurns really went after Trump in his commencement address at Stanford today. From his speech: https://t.co/rLmgRQiSO8

Waking up to the
tragic news about the Orlando Nightclub hit me hard. I'm at wits end in terms of being consistently heartbroken at this sort of violence and the frustration of being able to do
nothing about it. Our policy makers did nothing after
Sandy Hook and even as recent as last December, they decided to
pass on background checks for people on the terrorist watch list; which Florida's shooter was on. Seriously.
I'm not going to attempt to wax eloquently on this issue via written word. The internet is filled with vitriol and defenses are always at 1000% when trying to discuss an issue with more than two sides. I'm just sick of hearing that
gun sales increase after these incidents because people are scared they are going to be taken away. Not just a mild increase but a sharp uptick. Seriously.
Appealing to politicians is useless.
Look at the evidence. The only mechanism that talks is money. Not a desire to have less deaths. Not a sensible request to simply make it a
bit harder to own a deadly weapon. Only filling pockets of those who have their own self-interest at heart. So, I'm going to throw what I've got at
EveryTown, an organization set on increasing gun safety and ending gun violence. If they're going up against the NRA they're going to need every penny that we can muster. Maybe there's a better organization to give my money to? Let me know, I'm open to suggestions. Seriously.

Fun Fact: did you know Congress has blocked dedicated funding to researching gun violence? Not changing anything, just studying it. Banned. If we can't even educate ourselves to the problem, how can we fix it?

Remember: the NRA works to ease gun restrictions for dangerous people who hate.
And peddles hate to gun owners.

Let's get right into it. I've had a crazy week and, fortunately, the Internet has provided a solid bevy of distractions and treats to delight.
- Kazoo Kid - Trap Remix - my jaw dropped upon viewing this and I continue to marvel at how much I want to keep rewatching it. Mind = Blown. Thank you Dave and this playlist.
- John Hetlinger karaokes Drowning Pool - the description won't sell you until you discover that John Hetlinger is 80 years old.
- Forever Blowing Bubbles - I have never seen a dog do this before and probably never will again.
- 2001: A Picasso Odyssey - Deep Dream applied to Stanley Kubrick through the lens of Pablo Picasso. Helluva combination.
- Anticipation - I've seen this video before but the musical pairing takes it up a notch.
- The Strokes - Drag Queen - this latest video was either ripped from Tumblr or just directly inspired by it. It's unclear which but, either way, it's a good retro watch.
- Abdul Greeting - next time you're on television doing a high-energy dance routine in front of cameras and a live audience, tell me you wouldn't have the exact same reaction this girl does (around the 30 second mark).
- The Family Auto Mart - how have I never seen any of these? Madness for nearly ten minutes.
- Saint Pepsi - Enjoy Yourself - good to see this Mac Tonight footage getting paired so perfectly.

Over the years, vinyl has settled on three different standard sizes - 7", 10" and 12" - with the 10" being a bit of the black sheep of the lineup. But that wasn't always the case! Vinyl used to come in a much wider variety, as documented by this Vinyl Factory article on
Odd-sized Records You Never Knew Existed.
Sure, there's always the wacky
Third Man Records release that pushes those boundaries but you don't really see a lot of these types of things out in the world anymore.

This fall will mark the release of the second full-length album from Andrew Brassell, aka
Slowmotions, on my own yk records. The album, entitled
The Domes, is already in manufacturing and it's a beautiful piece of work. I recommend you go follow Andrew over on
Instagram and
Soundcloud for sneak peeks into the album throughout the summer.

Will Morgan Holland has many skillful undertakings - photographer, painter and commercial director among them. He recently released his first short film as well,
The Unbeliever. It's gorgeously shot and quite withholding when it comes to
exactly what is going on. You don't really need all the details as you're just seeing a small snippet of a very strange scenario.
